From a Gas Guzzler to a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid!

Recommended Posts

I've been driving a Chrysler Pacifica for about 6 years now and although I really loved the car, I really didn't like the 15 mpg I was getting. AND the weekly trips to the gas station.

So....this past Sunday I test drove a Fusion Hybrid and loved it! I traded in my Chrysler and drove home with my new car.

So far, and it's only been a couple of days, I really love it. I got Silver Titanium edition with everything except the park assist package.

My first Ford and my fist hybrid!

Similar story here.

Had a 2010 Mit. Endevor best ever MPG about 18.5 on trip.

Filling it up a couple of weeks ago my head finally exploded. Started to investigate Hybrids.

I never even considered one before.

Went about a week later and test drove a C-Max first then the FFH. Drove home the FFH.

So far we love it. My wife would have liked a different color got Oxford White Se with most of the toys.

I like the white. Still learning to drive it correctly. averaging about 43.4 so far. Pretty darn happy with that at about 1000 miles. :)

Welcome, and congrats!! I suspect you'll miss the cargo capacity of the Pacifica, but that kinda goes with the territory of having a Hybrid. Good luck and enjoy!

Say does your 2014 show the Lifetime Summary when you turn off the car? Or just the Trip Summary?

I have only done one fillup, I am waiting for the low fuel light to see how many miles/gal that leaves me before filling the second time.

So the answer is, I only get the Trip Summary so far.

Ha! I know the feeling. I sold my Jeep Commander which I also loved but for the 12mpg in town and 16 hwy. I always thought I was going to tow something but it never happened, LOL

OP here - I'm going to have to do a lot of reading here on the site to find the best ways to maximize the gas mileage. I've only got about 160 miles on it so I don't really have an idea of what the mileage is, but the display says 29.8 right now. I know that will change!

Also, when I turn the car off, I believe I only get a trip summary, but now that you asked, I'll look to see if there is a lifetime summary as well. The trip summary has my mpg anywhere from 25 to 50 depending on where I drive.

I'm also going to try to start using Fuelly as well.

Thanks for all the responses everyone!

Just came back from a short drive and all I got was the trip summary, no lifetime summary anywhere that I can find...

When a 2013 car is turned off the trip summary appears in the left screen.

5 to 10 seconds later the trip summary is replaced by the lifetime summary.

No button pushing is required.

Are you saying that this does not happen on a 2014.

I can confirm that it does not.

If you don't reset Trip 2, you can still maintain the Lifetime summary information, or at least the miles and mpg.

Anne, did you buy your Fusion from Vista Ford there in Woodland Hills? I bought the first one they sold back in November, and I also traded in a Pacifica, a 2004 model that I purchased in April 2003. I also had great luck with the Pacifica and loved it. I had to travel over 200 miles to get my FFH since my local dealer wasn't going to have one for another seven weeks.

I posted on Ford Social a request to bring back the Lifetime Summary and MPGe. The Energi vehicles lost MPGe in this change as well which makes their read outs worthless because they just show 999.9 MPG anytime you drive in electric mode. Hopefully others will also go to http://social.ford.com/ and post a similar request.

When your trip summery is up press down on the left buttons. It will switch.

Only on the 2013s. The 2014s do not have a lifetime summary.
