Ti - 2013 vs 2014

I'm trying to decide between buying the 2013 or 2014 Ti. Can anyone help me with the differences between the years? I'm looking at the drivers assist, sunroof and navi as added options.

There currently doesn't appear to be much of a difference between the '13 & '14. Getting a '14 would insure that you are getting all the electronic updates, but that can also be done to an existing '13. The one major change that will be available later in the year is a height adjustment for the front passenger seat (along with cooling for both front seats). If your usual co-pilot is short, this is probably worth waiting for.

But if you aren't interested in new options, the standard features I believe are unchanged. The packages you mention above haven't changed, 2014 prices might be slightly higher though. If you're ordering you'll have to get a 2014, buying off the lot you might be able to find a 2013 still.

I was pretty Set on getting the 2014 hyti but I just got a email saying that the dealer is offering 1.5k to 2000k below invoice price, and that's before the factory rebates and such. Now I'm not so sure if Ishould stick with the 2014s.. anyone got any advice?

If you can find a 2013 in the color and with the options you want I would get the 2013, seems to be no real difference as others stated.

I'm afraid that the 2013 might have more issues than the 2014 model haha. Any chances of that?

It seems that the earliest of the 2013s had some gremlins, but the subsequent vehicles seem to be pretty good. Ford has also been good about backing up any problems and doing their best to resolve any issues.

As always, an issue for me would be that a 2013 bought this late in the year will be well below the mileage, a 2014 bought this early in the year will almost always have mileage that is high for the model year. It would depend on how much driving you do.

What do you mean well below the mileage? Is there any problem with having low mileage?

No, its a good thing. You have a 2013 with low miles, its value is higher on resale or trade vs an early 2013 which would most likely have higher miles on it. If you are looking for an Energi, those were all built Job2, and that production run had very good results, far fewer incidents of poor construction, recalls, TSB's etc.

 

IOW, they worked out most of the bugs from JOB1, and I would not hesitate to get a late availability Energi. Now is the time to jump on them to get the best pricing since the dealers ant them gone. They pay financing on cars that sit too long on the lot and would rather make a few dollars and not pay that financing, than hold onto a chance to sell it for more. It also helps their bottom line when they can move more of them.
