Aquineas Report post Posted July 31, 2013 I went to have this done this am at my dealer and they informed me (potentially incorrectly) that since this was a PCM update, I had to bring all my keys in with me so they could be re-programmed. I didn't have my wife's key with me so I couldn't get this done. I'm not sure how valid this information is, but I thought others should know just in case. kuzzi Report post Posted July 31, 2013 I guess it makes sense because to set computer limits on "child keys" both admin keys need to be present.
Waldo Report post Posted July 31, 2013 No, that doesn't make any sense at all. You can reprogram the PCM anytime without needing both keys. All the software that deals with the keys is in the cluster or the PEPS module.
Aquineas Report post Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) Waldo, before I call my service manager back, are you a Ford employee or tech? Or perhaps have had the procedure done without all the keys? I'm not doubting you, I just would like to be able to mention it when I call back in. Edited July 31, 2013 by Aquineas
