Love my Dealer

Last Firday my wife and I had a date night by ourselves and we went to a goofy golf in Woodstock, right across the street from a Ford dealer. I have bought cars from them in the past but had to haggle on pricing, which I never had to do with my current dealer. My dealer also does not like this dealership, and wont do any trading with them.

 

Well, about 500' from this dealer is a bill board. On this bill board is a nice big advertisement for my dealer! Love it! I'm pretty sure they did it on purpose too,

Isn't it great when we can actually have a good relationship with our car dealers? They have such a bad reputation in general, and finding a good one is worth so much.

I went to my dealership first in August 2012 when they had an Introductory event for the new Fusion. They were the only dealer selected for this, so I went, even though they are not the closest dealership to my house. When I went back in December 2012, the salesman came to me and said, "I remember you, you were here for the Fusion event, right?" He pretty much won me over with that. He was so easy to work with, gave me a great deal on the price even though I was special ordering and not taking a car from current inventory. At the time I went to pick up the car in February 2013, before I could present the coupon I received in the mail for an additional $750 off, he advised me that he had applied the $750 off already.

About a month after taking delivery, I received the brass name plate with the Ford logo applied, and engraved "Built especially for DAVID" (picture posted in a prior thread). Then a month later, I got a package with a 1:43 scale model of a 2013 Fusion.

After I brought the car in for service, he called me to see if everything was OK with the service. And on my birthday in June, he sent a hand written birthday card with a personalized note.

While I know none of these things are reason to buy the car from them, overall, they indicate that they really do care about their customers and want to insure that we are satisfied.

I can assure you when it is time to replace this FFH, I will shop around for price first, but will buy from him.

Maybe they can open a second store in CL since there is no Ford dealer but in any other city around. I always found this kinda strange.

 

I like my dealer as well but I actually love my FFH since I have only been back at my dealer for my first oil change which was free btw.

Conlin Collins used to be OK, I had a cousin that worked there, then they sold to Extreme and they tanked the joint. Now its going to be a VW place when they finish rebuilding. Amazing how quickly they got that building up too! You're right too, there are no close by Ford stores to CL. There are 3 within the same distance, Buss, Wickstrom and that one in Dundee that I cant remember the name of, and the one in Woodstock who does bait and switch with their ads, (the one I mentioned above) which is a bit closer. Honda is moving their lot to the old Dodge one, so their old place will be available, so I could mention this to them next time I go there.

You had your oil changed already? Isn't the first oil change not due until 10,000 miles?

I agree took them a week from the first wall to the roof on top. It's about time VW moves out of this cramped space on 31 - 3 makes under one roof gets really tight.

The one down in Dundee is Springhill Ford - I have read bad reviews about them and than there is Tom Peck in Huntley.

You had your oil changed already? Isn't the first oil change not due until 10,000 miles?

Yes it is but it was for free and I did it after our long road trip at around 7k so somewhere in middle just to be save. Now I will go 1 year or 10k which might just overlap anyway.

I'm half tempted to change mine to Royal Purple full Synthetic, just to see if it really does help improve gas mileage as they claim.
