greycrx87 Report post Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Hello everybody, I have been a frequent visitor of this forum for the past few weeks. Just got my 2013 Fusion Hybrid SE, leather/nav. I was cross shopping among 10 different cars any thing from Jetta Hybrid to ES300h, Camry hybrid, I was absolutely amazed how great this cars drives and feels, I'm a tall guy and the seats are super comfortable. I'm very happy with the gas millage. I'm easily getting over 50 MGP (43 avg for now) in the first couple hundred miles of the car - the EV is used quite a lot in the Chicago slow moving traffic :). My previous car was 2011 BMW M3, I traded it in as it was an end of the lease and I had 6K of positive equity in it. I started driving a lot more and having a hybrid make sense for a daily driver - . Anyway here's some pics. I absolutely love the car. Edited July 12, 2013 by greycrx87 1 hybridbear reacted to this
djminfll Report post Posted July 12, 2013 Welcome, and good luck with your FFH!It must have been tough letting go of that BMW, but I guess 54.7 mpg helps ease the pain a bit! You'll find everyone on this forum is very helpful and knowledgeable - if you have any questions, someone on here is bound to have an answer. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Welcome to the forum fellow Chicagolander and congrats on the new ride. Looks like you are somewhere in the Western Suburbs based on your dealer which doesn't mean anything. Have you checked out the member map? I think mokee is also down there in that area. A note on the thumbnails they are limited in size and you will run out of it quickly. Posting a picture link from FB, photobucket, or google+ is probably better if wanna you keep posting awesome MPG # ;-) Edited July 12, 2013 by corncobs

Some are not perfect and some are close to it, but it's hard to beat the way they handle and feel on the road.
hybridbear Report post Posted July 14, 2013 Congrats & welcome :) I'm sure the FFH is a huge change after driving an M3 but hopefully you'll find the gas savings just as engaging as the thrilling power of the BMW 1 corncobs reacted to this

mokee Report post Posted July 15, 2013 Welcome aboard! Good to see another FFHer in the Chicago area and hope to see you actively contribute. Was it hard to make the change from the M3? You realize they won't allow you to pass in the right lane anymore on the Interstates. ;) That's for BMW drivers only. Just Kidding! 1 corncobs reacted to this

greycrx87 Report post Posted July 15, 2013 (edited) Thanks all, Not much of an issue switching to hybrid to be honest, 3 years of driving M3 was a complete blast, priorities change if you know what I mean :) , one of the issues I had was the roads around the city have been gradually getting worse ( sad reality), and daily driving a sport car with low profile tires turned into a nightmare :( . PS. I live in the Norwood Park area of the city. Edited July 15, 2013 by greycrx87
acdii Report post Posted July 15, 2013 Not just city roads, out by me they are literally falling apart. We dont get potholes, we get patches of no blacktop at all, just gravel.
hybridbear Report post Posted July 16, 2013 Not much of an issue switching to hybrid to be honest, 3 years of driving M3 was a complete blast, priorities change if you know what I mean :)I understand. Before I had a couple of Saabs with the high pressure turbos and while they don't compare to an M3 I bought the Saabs for the performance at a reasonable price. I really enjoyed driving the Saabs as they were designed to be enjoyable to drive, much like the M3 was a blast to drive for you. However I've found that I enjoy driving the FFH even more. I love driving silently through the city and getting tanks of 50+ MPGs. With getting married my priorities changed and we wanted to save money on gas. A hybrid is a great solution because the money we save on gas each month allows us to have more money to spend on other things. We also save time by not buying gas as often. And the combination of the ICE with the Traction motor makes the FFH accelerate pretty quickly when needed.
acdii Report post Posted July 16, 2013 And just think, when the twins arrive you already have room for 2 car seats! :) Shoot I do believe there is room for 3 car seats. 1 corncobs reacted to this
