I've been out of commission here for a bit. Been busy, had some health problems, then my regular laptop bit the dust and I've just now gotten back over here. Hope I didn't miss anything exciting. I'm still waiting for my cracking noise parts to come in, still loving the Fusion! And how are YOU?

• Hybridbear and acdii are now Moderators, so we all gotta watch our step. Check out the new RED titles under their names.

• Coach came back to report he is still happy with his FFH and getting fantastic mpg's.

• All the Job 1 cars that are averaging under 45mpg's are being recalled and replaced with Ginger Ale colored HyTi's. Oh, wait, that got delayed...

 

In fact, maybe someone else may be better qualified to report on exciting news, my car is in the shop. :cry:

Ten minutes before you posted, I asked myself "Where's Elle been"?

I got a call yesterday from my dealer saying they got the spacers in but not the new bolts that are also needed to go with them to fix the cracking noise. The dealer may not do the changes when I tell them the noise stopped about 3 weeks ago. They will do the update for the Battery Saver message at the same time. My average MPG still bounces between 36 & 38. Every 42+ mpg trip is canceled out by a sub-34 trip. It would be hard to love my FFH more, however.

Hey stranger, yep we are still here -- my average continues to inch upward, just got gas a while ago on the other side of town ($3.18, betcha can't say that in CA) where the terrain is very favorable for the ride home. So for this tank thus far it's 6 miles and average of 83.4 MPG, but gotta back up the hill in the morning. :(

 

I have the cracking noise on my left side wheel, but not in a big hurry to take it in, hoping those thrust washer kits will get stocked up along with the fuel delivery thing, and get it all knocked out at once. And the leather shift knob too.

 

But otherwise things are good, now have about 17,400 miles.

We've not made much progress with the mileage issue. In fact, the triple digit heat has kept my short radius driving since retirement hovering nearer to 30 than 47.

I was also thinking where you have been because just the other day I was thinking that you started the "Happy MPG talk" after being fed up by some many negative comments about MPG result.

 

This topic is the most replied to in the entire forum by a wide margin at least what I can see. Also on the page there are twice as many pages than the runner up which is also related to MPG result.

Welcome back! My mileage in improving - I'm getting about 43 on each tank now. My small window trip piece has stayed in place ever since the dealer re-seated it, so I'm happy :)

LOL, glad to see everyone has kept up their sense of humor. I'm okay, did some testing and have a bunch of biopsies off at the lab so won't know if I"m really okay until next week, probably. It's routine screening but they did find some things that were a little off, so just making sure.

 

Also got a new puppy, so that's been keeping me busy. He's adorable but he hates the new car, or any car. Gets carsick, so this should be interesting :)

 

My mileage has slowly improved a bit. Just saw that I got the other recall now, so I guess I'll be talking to the dealer about that one, too.

Glad to see you back. Don't sweat the med stuff. They are always pessimistic, so counter that with optimism. Just remember, they don't have all the answers.... :)
