JSKershaw Report post Posted June 5, 2013 I dropped my car off to the dealership this morning to have some work done and asked them about the 13A01 recall for the MFT Touch update letter I received. I already had the 3.5.1 update installed (perhaps not approved by Ford) but it did show in the dealerships system that in fact the 3.5.1 update was installed in February. I do know I have it because I do have the Hybrid icon on the home screen that pulls the car image and shows the status of the Hybrid drive and battery etc. Well apparently there is a newer version that has been released and the guy at the service desk had to verify that it wasn't the version I already had installed. Apparently this update came out Monday. I will know more when I pick up my car either tomorrow night or Friday morning. Has anyone heard of a new update to the 3.5.1 MFT system? I did some searching in Google and on the syncmyride.com forum and can't seem to find anything regarding this update. He did mention a recall number 13A02 or 03 (I can't remember now that I think about it). I checked ETIS and it only shows the 13A01 update which they will update in OASIS since it wasn't available to update back in February when they performed the update. acdii Report post Posted June 5, 2013 I heard the same thing, that there is a patch for 3.5.1 coming out Monday.
JSKershaw Report post Posted June 5, 2013 Ah okay. This is news to me. The dealership is going to install the new version/patch. I'm curious to what has been added/fixed/changed. If I notice anything when I get my car back I will post it here. I haven't had any problems with my MFT system, so I'm curious what the patch patches... HenryVIII Report post Posted June 5, 2013 Thank god. My phone (iPhone 5) fails to connect to MFT system at times. Really annoying. 1 elle reacted to this

JSKershaw Report post Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Well it looks like the dealership updated it today. Also looking at the site now, it appears I need to confirm the new update when I get the car back with my USB stick... ethermion Report post Posted June 7, 2013 My ffh is in the shop right now for the 3.5.1 update amongst other things (fuel delivery module, oil change). They are telling me that it needs more than a day for the 3.5.1 update, and that I need to rent a car. Does that make sense? Pretty irritated at the moment. -e
aaronj1159 Report post Posted June 7, 2013 I actually took my car in for the shift knob, cracking noise, and some other minor issues yesterday. I got a loaner for the day for work. I called them at about 5 PM to see if I could come pick up my car. As expected they said they needed to order "some" parts but they also had problems with their computers and needed to keep it overnight. So I'll get it back this afternoon. I'm curious as to whether they've found this update too. In the meantime I'm driving a 2012 Camry that has the sticker in the glove box. Surprisingly it costs almost as much as my FFH and I don't know how that is. The only features it has that my car does not are push button start and sunroof. The stereo sucks and it's not a very comfortable car, nor ride. I'm ready to get my car back. 1 elle reacted to this
ethermion Report post Posted June 7, 2013 My #$!@ dealer does not do loaners. My mistake for buying from them. They promised to call me around lunch time with an ETA. They also claim that the fuel delivery module recall is only being performed on cars actually leaking as the parts are in short supply, per Ford corporate. And they do not know if they have the washers for the clicking noise. Love the car, starting to hate the dealer. -e

Took mine in yesterday for the same things-- shift knob, cracking noise, plastic molding loose behind the triangular front windows, and upgrade MFT if available. You are lucky to have a Camry, I ended up with a Chevy Cruze which, while not as horrible as it could be, seems like a tin can compared to the Fusion. I hope I'll hear back from the dealer today about what they are able to do and what I'll have to wait on.

I hope I'll hear back from the dealer today about what they are able to do and what I'll have to wait on. Oh I'm sure I could have done worse. In fact had I not had the FFH between driving my Jetta and driving the Camry I wouldn't have noticed as many of the drawbacks. However, the Jetta was a $20k car and the Camry matches up with it more than the FFH. Feel like we got some value. haha. I have a plastic molding on the driver's windshield pillar that seems to be warped or bent. That's another thing they were supposed to look at. And the headliner at the windshield above the passenger's head was pulling away a little for whatever reason. They did call me a few minutes ago and say that they've ordered the parts that they need for ALL of my issues, indicating that the fix for the cracking must be doable for them. Now to make this post kind of on topic. If they did change MFT any, they didn't mention it in the phone call. I'll find out in a few hours. If not, I'll have to take it back in a week or so for all the fixes they ordered parts for, so I'll ask about it then.
elle Report post Posted June 7, 2013 Well it looks like the dealership updated it today. Also looking at the site now, it appears I need to confirm the new update when I get the car back with my USB stick... I can't read that image. Is there any way you can post any relevant information on that update here (version number, etc?) I just got off the phone from my dealer who says I have the "most recent" version since mine was updated in December! I wanted to show him that there's something new that he might not be familiar with yet, but it would be good to give him specifics when I go to pick up the car today. Guardian_Bob Report post Posted June 7, 2013 Best I can tell from the images, it is the same 3.5.1 update applied twice more. Odd looking to say the least.
JSKershaw Report post Posted June 10, 2013 So looking at the update numbers on Syncmyride, they are the same as what I already had. However, there's an update to the PCM and APM which is updated when MFT is updated. I had to change my settings on the left screen "My View" etc. Everything else looked the same. clummus Report post Posted June 17, 2013 "My view" is supposed to show up in the left display?..I've only seen it in the right dash display and I don't see a way to set anything in it?..maybe I don't have the updated MFT?

I've suggested this before to someone else on these forums. You seem to have a lot of questions about the basic operation of your car. I think you would be best served to take your car to your dealer and ask for a knowledgeable salesperson or better yet, a hybrid technician to spend some time with you going over your car's operation. clummus Report post Posted June 17, 2013 it is in the right.display on the dash, not the nav screen. someone above said "left display". Just clarifying.
clummus Report post Posted June 17, 2013 the left display has many menu options, but not "my.view".

hermans Report post Posted June 17, 2013 the left display has many menu options, but not "my.view".There is empower, engage and my view. You can set my view to show what operations you want to see. The are all set in the left 4.2 inch screen.

brcd131 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 Took my car in today to get the update. Dealer said when they tried to install the update, the computer refused the update so they had to order a new computer. When I got in the car, the screen was totally blank. No radio, no backup camera, no climate, nothing. I couldn't even eject the CD. I really think they fried the computer. So another 45 mile trip each way to the dealer to get the computer replaced and reprogrammed.
JSKershaw Report post Posted June 18, 2013 I should also mention that all my EV+ locations were lost in the update. My house was found in about 3 days. It has not found my work yet. It took almost 3 months for it to find my work...
