Ford conquest rate for hybrids

Ford publishes a conquest rate for Fusion Hybrid purchases of 67%, see press release here. I'm curious though about what the conquest rate has been for users on this forum. It seems like quite a few on here owned Ford products before. I'm guessing that the conquest rate on here will be much lower than the overall conquest rate Ford publishes.

I have always rather walk and carry a Ford hubcap than drive anything else. I got snookered into a Pontiac hardtop convertible by a friend of mine who owned a GM dealership (if Ford had had one, I would have bought Ford). It was a nice car, but I just don't like the GM products. We drove it for 6 years because of what it was (convertible), but I am very happy to be back in a Ford in general and this one in particular.

We have never NOT had a Ford at one time or another, always had one parked in the driveway. We have had Honda's, GM, Toyotas, and a rare Renault, but there was always the Ford. Right now we have 4 Fords.

My last Ford was a 1999 Cobra; I waited four months for it (Ford had some production problems with the Cobra that year). Hopefully the Fusion will be a lot more reliable.

Renaults are more than rare aren't they? At least you didn't have a Fiat. On a recent trip to Italy, even the Italian guide made fun of them. I can't remember his acronym, but it was something about their lack of engineering expertise.

It was a Renault SportWagon, and it was a good driving car, but the transmission was a POS. Burned it up, tried to fix it, but the case was trashed and I couldn't find another one, so it went to a college as a tech toy for them to work on. It was a FWD with the engine mounted as in a RWD. When I first got it, it had no first gear, so I took it apart and got all the gears working, Then reverse went out, so when I took it apart the second time I found the pump has scored the case. :(

I decided to get my BII for offroading specifically because I have seen those things go places offroad vehicles normally cannot go. On top of it all they are comfortable and can be easy daily drivers too. I call mine the Broncosaurus only because it is older than I am. I'm currently trying to turn it into a diesel to bring up my fleet's fuel efficiency.

Keep us/me posted on that conversion. My 2.9 is not tired, but it is a 2.9 and 27 years old. It would be nice to have the same or more torque, and the efficiency of a diesel. I am very interested on how that works out for you .... :)

I don't believe my family has ever owned a Ford aside from my dad's toy (that changes frequently) a 2002 Thunderbird. When I lived with my parents, it was in a small town that only had a Chyrsler/Dodge dealer, and it was the sort of thing where the owners did business with my parents so we did business with them for things like trucks. I've only ever owned Volkswagens myself, and my dad currently has a BMW. We like the German cars. I've personally found them to be very reliable and great driving cars. That being said, I wanted to increase my fuel efficiency, and diesel wasn't really an option for me based on prices of both the vehicles and the fuel. I also wanted something better looking than the new VWs. Decided to give Ford a shot. So far, so good.

As of right now our poll shows an 80% conquest rate for Ford on the FFH after 24 votes. I'll be curious to see how that changes over time
