HyTi (Titanium) vs SE vs S differences

Recommended Posts

I wish my 2014 SE had the garage door opener in the visor like the titanium does.

It is offered in the SE. You just to order the correct option package.

The SE may have IA key w/PBS. Did the hyTi have the spoiler removed?

No spoiler that I recall. I don't think it was removed, I think it was never installed. ;-)

My 2013 SE has the garage door buttons in the visor. It was part on an option.

Spoiler delete option then removes the chrome door strips on the HyTi. The garage door opener is part of the sunroof package.

They aren't listed as a component of any package for 13 or 14, for 15 the description for the SE luxury package changed from "chrome window trim" to "titanium chrome door trim." We have a few Titaniums and SEs left, I'll poke around the lot tomorrow to see if there is something obvious.

What option gives the SE the chrome accents on the door handles?

Intelligent Access with Push Button Start. Or so it seems by the previous comments.

And the Titanium appears to lose them if it doesn't have a spoiler? I'm surprised by that one.

As hybridbear stated, if you get Adaptive Cruise Control, the exterior plastic around the fog lamps and lower grill is shiny black. But it also appears that you get the chrome trim around the lower grill as well which matches the upper grill. Not positive, but I have seen it only on cars with ACC. Need to keep looking.

To bad we cant find a build guide that actually states what exactly is included with each option.

I deleted the spoiler from my Titanium Fusion and it has the chrome accents on the door handles.

I don't have ACC on my HY TI, but I do have the bright chrome trim on my lower grill and around the fog lamps.

After getting our Energi Titanium I've noticed a few more differences:

  • padded glove box
  • net on glove box door

The glove box has been an annoyance with the FFH. The shelf in the Ti is much better since it has fabric on it which stops things from sliding around. The net on the door of the glove box is also very useful because it holds important papers and other small items where they are accessible rather than being buried on the shelf.

Really? Strange. Neither SE that we had came with the fabric glove box shelf.

Is your black plastic in the lower grill and around the fog lamps glossy or flat?

Both the lower grill and around the fog lamps are glossy

A conversation about the differences between the HySE and the HyS came up in another thread, so I am posting here as well since this is a more appropriate topic for it.

One of the main reasons I opted for the SE over the S in my 2014 FFH, was because the S did not have the Sirius radio. But I also really wanted the spoiler and the 5-spoke wheels in the SE Appearance Package.

Here is the list of differences between the base SE and the S, as listed in the 2016 Fusion Order Guide:

SE Standard Equipment:

All S Hybrid Content, Plus:
● 6 Speakers (Note: The standard equipment list for the S in the Order Guide says "6 speakers" as well.)
● Body-Color Rocker Moldings
● Compass
● Mirrors – Upgraded Exterior Mirrors
— Heated
— Puddle Lamps
— Turn Signal Indicator
● Outside Temperature Indicator
● Rear A/C and Heat Ducts
● Rear Center Armrest w/2 cup holders
● Rear Floor Mats
● Seats
— Eco Cloth
— 10-Way Power Drivers Seat Including Power Lumbar (fore/aft, up/down, tilt, recline, 2-way power lumbar, memory)

(My Note: S model has 6-Way Manual Driver Seat.)
— 6-Way Power Passenger Seat (fore/aft, up/down with recline)

(My Note: S model has 4-Way Manual Passenger Seat.)
● SecuriCode™ Keyless-Entry Keypad
● SIRIUS® Satellite Radio with 6-month Prepaid subscription (48 Contiguous States). Service not available in Alaska or Hawaii.

And pretty much, the only options of note on the S model are the Rear Inflatable Seat Belts and the Remote Start System accessory.

I have a 2015 FFH S and there are actually two flavors of compass that are included on the S. First, there is a simple N, E, S, W indicator in the lower part of the instrument panel. Second, in the right side information display you can choose to display a graphic compass if you want a more detailed compass display. I played with it but prefer the fuel history bar graph displayed on the right side information display (I find the simple N, E, S, W indicator in the instrument panel adequate).

There is also confusion about the FFH S concerning outside temperature display and this is because the Ford documentation continues to incorrectly imply that the outside temperature display in not present on the S. On my S the outside temperature is displayed in two locations (the center stack display and also the instrument panel). My copiliot views the center stack display and I view the one in the istrument panel.

I think the issue is that the Fusion S doesn't have the outside temp display or the compass. But the FFH S does.

Apart from the superior sound system and more comfortable leather seats (just my opinion, others prefer the SE ones), the Titanium has no practical differences from the SE. There are the obvious cosmetic differences but I won't go into them as everyone else already gave the details.

Before MY2014, the only way to get intelligent access was to get the Titanium trim, but since MY2014 it has been a $500 option on the SE.

For the non hybrid Fusions, the SE loses quite a few options if you opt for anything less than the 2.0 Ecoboost engine. If you opt for the 2.5, you can't even get the memory leather/premium cloth seats or any driver aids apart from the rearview camera and rear parking sensors. If you opt for the 1.5 (or 1.6 on pre-2014 models), you get most of the options available but not adaptive cruise (I think rain sensing wipers and BLIS aren't available either, but not 100% sure).

That probably explains the confusion in the Ford brochures and web pages.

Thanks for this thread. I'm not yet a hybrid/energi owner but know with 200k on my DD that its only a matter of time before I'll be pulling the trigger for a new set of wheels.

Here to learn about owning a Hybrid/energi. Going from 18-22 to 36-44 has me wondering what I'm going to do with the extra cash in my pocket.
