Even with buying it you can talk to a sales or service manger into canceling the contract if you feel (and they agree) you've waited too long for repairs on a NEW car, but so much down on it, and they have attempted to fix it multiple times with no success. The big thing that keeps them from feeling like they have to lose your business is you saying you like the fusion..its the best car on the road right now and you've been impressed with all their services so far...you just dont feel this cars reliable anymore and you shouldnt have these problems with a brand new car- first year or not...major engine work should never be required. Tell them you simply just want to reorder the car or purchase a new one off the lot. This one was defective and you still want to do business with them, you just want another vehicle and its as simple as a VIN change (what my sales manager said to me). That coats it up real nice. Fastronaut Report post Posted May 20, 2013 Today's Update: My Ford Dealership Service Department testing found that there was an under voltage issue with power coming out of the fuse box. It was reported to Ford Technical Assistance last Friday, but they didn't receive a response until today. A new fuse box is on order and will be shipped overnight for expected delivery tomorrow (Tuesday, 5/21/2013). Now that the Transmission Control Module has been replaced, the dealership is waiting for instructions on whether Ford wants them to leave the new module in place or swap it back for the original one. Fastronaut Report post Posted May 24, 2013 Still a work in progress, but the Field Service Engineer (FSE) has finished his examination of the vehicle and the fuse box repair was completed. All indications are that the fuse box was the actual source of the problem. FSE has certified the vehicle releasable. Dealership management has treated us very well and it is a testimony to their commitment to customer service and I give them high marks for their efforts. This is a Ford issue, not the dealerships. Discussions still underway. We have found that honest and open dialogue with your dealership is the best approach to getting things resolved. Based on discussions, I am returning the rental vehicle tomorrow and picking up the Fusion. Things are looking very positive and all parties seem to be on the path of a vehicle replacement. It will be a garage Queen until its clone arrives. My wife refuses to drive it based on the experience. Ford says its OK to use it in the interim, but I probably won't if the wait is reasonable. Dealer happens to have an identical car in inventory except for floor mats. It must be fate! Can't say enough about dealer support. How will Ford handle the swap from a cost and miles perspective? Are you being charged for the miles you put on the first HyTi? How do they process the state registration fees and sales taxes?
