  1. Sorry if this is a repeat, but I did not find it in the search feature, I have a 2013 FFH that occassionaly has the "see manual" "check brake system" warning light come on with the little service wrench. The wrench is not flashing. I've taken it to the dealerships three times in the last six months and they never find anything wrong. They say 'no codes...no problems'. This is an intermittant problem that I cannot reproduce. It happens while the car is moving at various speeds. Two of the three times I was able to pull over, stop the car, restart it and the warning light went away. The other time, it took a few on/off cycles to go away. Also, this last time, it was within a few hundred yards of my work, where the EV+ kicks in, but this time, because of the warning light (I presume), EV+ did not kick in. As a matter of fact, the engine kept running, even after I parked and turned off all the accessories (radio, AC, etc.). The engine did not stop running (even though the battery was at 50%) until I powered down. Not sure what best course of action is, but I think just ignoring the warning lights is probably not a good one. Any thoughts?
  2. My 2011 Fusion only has 60k miles and the extended warranty expired in May 2018. All of a sudden, couple of days ago, the break would go all the way to the floor and the car would barely stop. I was luckily in a parking lot. The dash had the wrench symbol and also brake system warning and Service Advancetrac. Occasionally, there would be some sounds coming from the dash but no lights, until this incident. The dealer ran some diags and says that the ABS ECU and ABS HCU need to be replaced. The verbiage is REPLACE THE ABS ECU AND THE ABS HCU MODULE , REPROGRAM AND CALIBRATE THE ABS ECU AND ABS HCU MODULE , ABS SERVICE BLEED AND ABS MANUAL BRAKE BLEEDING PROCEDUREOBSERVATIONS: RETRIEVE HISTORY DTC U3000:49 , C0001:49 , C0022:1D , AND C0022:49 FROM THE ABS MODULE ( ABS , TCS , AND BRAKE BOOSTER SOLENOID INTERNAL FAULT ). The dealer says the parts alone cost $2200 and labr another $800. Huge bill. Should i contact Ford Customer Care and explain the extended warranty and ask for a discount? Also, is it better to get this done at a local shop instead of the dealer?
  3. So I'm driving along and exiting a highway and turn on to the exit ramp. As soon as the car comes to a stop, on comes the Parking Brake Light and the car won't budge. Called the Ford Dealership Service Department and they never heard of this happening. Finally, turning the car off/on, moving shift lever repeatedly, etc. (a million times), the car starts to move in Drive even with the brake light on. I drove it straight to the Ford Dealer. The Hybrid Service guy (singular) is in a Hybrid class Tuesday-Friday this week, so guess what? OK, he diagnosed it from a conversation and thought it was something to do with the regenerative braking and someone else there can possibly handle it. Anyone else ever seen this problem?
