Finally Hit The Big 40

Recommended Posts

I finally got to see my lifetime MPG hit 40 ! I've got 5500 miles on it and I got the car just after Christmas. It took a while, now I'll see how it goes through the summer and into winter. :)

I had already achieved 40.3 before we took our 5000 mile road trip; now I have to work it again to get back up there I'm currently at 38.0.

It's a very rewarding game.

It's nice to see the lifetime average climb. Ours is up to 42.6 now. I'm anxious to get gas again to keep my Fuelly number climbing too. This tank is at 55.5 MPG after a little over 300 miles. At this rate I'll get 600 miles out of this tank

My fuelly numbers had moved up, but unfortunately, they've been brought down thanks to the mechanics at my Ford dealer. As I posted previously, the car has been in twice for the same issue (which they can't seem to fix :rant2: ). But both times they had the car, they apparently kept the engine running while they worked on it. Both times, I brought the car in with tankful average showing 45mpg, and I picked it up with 35 and 36mpg. But I'm back up to mid-40's again, so I'm hoping my average will climb back up again.

If I get a new one, I hope the hell it does not spend ANY time in the service bay! Out of all the cars and trucks I had, only the F150 and the Fusion spent time in the service bay. The F150 had some shudder issues, and the Fusion, well, that car spent more time than all my other cars combined. My 2010 had very few visits, and mainly for a bad map sensor, and some software updates I asked for. The only other time it spent a few days was caused by me sliding on ice and breaking a wheel bearing.

Every time the Fusion went in, both trip meters were reset and any and all calculations were tossed out the window, only the lifetime remained(I think).

I agree that this is annoying. Last time we brought our car in I took a pic of the trip meter before and after and saw that they drove the car 1.4 miles but used .11 gallons (12.7 MPG) which was very annoying!! :rant2:
