gadgetguy Report post Posted April 28, 2013 Ok I want to see what others do and how it might be affecting fuel economy. I use my remote start pretty much every day in the morning but not in the afternoon. I have not seen any real difference in fuel economy even when the ICE runs in the morning to warm up. I am curious as to how others use it and if you have seen any fuel economy difference.
rjent Report post Posted April 28, 2013 I am very interested in this topic. I will start "prestarting" mine before the 2 mile commute. I do have a baseline to work from, so I will update as I have it.... 1 gadgetguy reacted to this

acdii Report post Posted April 29, 2013 That all depends on if the ICE actually runs. Some days I would start the car, and unless I had HVAC actually turned on because I forgot to turn it off, the ICE would not run until I got out of the garage and halfway down my drive. I dont know if the Hybrid has settings for the Climate that are more advanced than the other cars, but the HVAC is automatic along with the seats, although I have yet got in after using remote start to warm or cool seats. rjent Report post Posted April 29, 2013 (edited) Thanks rjent I appreciate that.Ok, I did it this morning and it worked better than I had expected. I got 67 MPG as opposed to 30. I am not going to say absolutely so far, but it looks good. Check out the thread I started here.
