What I like about the FFH Forums

Seems like a lot of people here are very active on the forums, much more so than compared to it's Gasoline-only counterparts. I actually like that. I'm a fairly active internet forum user and I just find FFH forum a much more friendly, open and active forum. I would even go to add that this gives an added bonus to buying a Fusion Hybrid!

 

Even though I will be looking to buy the gas-only 2.0L Ecoboost model, I will be an active member on this forum. I like this place. There's always something new to read. :)

It is a nice forum and most of us have in common the love of our new cars and the love of all the new techno-gadgets we now have access too. Some nice people here, always willing to help others out.

One thing I found here, unlike that other site(*coughpriuscough*), we arent stuck up on our Fords. A few of us came over from Toyotas, and I have yet seen anyone go off and bash them like those other guys bash Fords. With the new Fusion out now, and starting to gain ground, I look forward to seeing more and more joining up and talking about their new cars.

There is a huge wealth of knowledge here that is invaluable in getting the most out of your Fusion.

I'm new to the hybrid world and did a lot of searching and reading before we bought ours and I felt that I knew just what to expect thanks to the sharing of knowledge and experiences of you fine people.

I agree. I came here to find out information and, even though I am not a "car person" like you find on many car forums, I have been welcomed by many and encouraged to stick around. Like most here, I love my car but do have an issue now and then, and it's nice to have a place where I can gripe about those things, as well as share my enjoyment of things when they are going well.

That's what car forums are for. To share experiences both good and bad. It's great to get advice and to know you may not be alone in your ventures. I like how people usually are willing to help others out.

Have you noticed, other than a few gripes and the click in the drive train, the overall view of the Fusion has been pretty much all positive(with the exception of :baby: ) I mean even though the one I had had some pretty weird problems, I would still get another one if I could(believe, been trying to figure this one out for weeks now). I find that pretty unusual for a brand new first year model.

I'm fully expecting that the car after this one will be a Fusion Energi. I'd find it especially attractive if the prices on the plug-ins comes down a bit over the next few years. It could happen!

I joined the forum as soon as I ordered my Fusion, and learned a lot about the car by reading the postings. I asked a bunch of questions and got valid answers from members who knew what they were talking about.

What I especially also like about being a part of the forum is that we can voice a criticism and not be ripped to shreds by diehard fans who can't accept that anything could possibly be wrong with the Fusion Hybrid. I think my favorite thread has been "pet peeves", where so many of us actually expressed things that could be improved. Very refreshing to be a part of all this!

Same here, if the price comes down to more acceptable levels like the Cmax has, then it would be a very good choice for us. We can save quite a bit of gas when we do a run to the stores which are within EV range of the NRG.

That trunk is a deal breaker for me, I drove one at my dealer, and when I opened the trunk I started laughing and said, "Yeah, so I won't be doing that."

 

If the battery tech gets better and God willing, smaller, maybe I'd be convinced to buy one in a few years.

I keep seeing things said about trunk space, and to this date I have not had an incident where the lack of trunk space in my 2010 or 13 was an issue. Then again, we never took long family trips in the Fusion either, thats what the Flex/F150/Flex is for. There were also complaints about the Flex not having enough space with the 3rd row in use, and again, did not become an issue for us either.

Have you ever seen the Energi's trunk space though?

 

The straight hybrid's is acceptable, the energi's is so tiny.

Only if you are traveling with it on. Besides, thats what they make a Flex for! :) Thats why an NRG HyTI would be perfect for us, when we need to haul more than can fit in the trunk, we take the Flex!

 

 

 

See have it all figured out.....well, most of it at least......haven't figured out how to pay for it yet....I mean, I could buy an NRGHyTi, but I couldnt afford to drive it no matter how many MPG it gets. Would make one heck of a diet plan though. Ramen noodles anyone?

I have been visiting a lot of car forums since we decided to buy a new car this year. This and the TDIClub.com forum are the best, IMHO. The mix of helping find out more about the car and diagnosing issues is great. The others range from not much activity to a very specialized niche group (I mean, how many ways are there to mount a bike rack on a car ?!?). And then there's the one, already mentioned, where the prime activity seems to be the regulars patting themselves on the back that they're saving the planet on the one hand, and compulsively bashing other cars on the other.

 

Yes, there are always a few know-alls on every forum, too but that's the Internet cross we all must bear.

TDIClub is great. There's a fellow over there greengeeker who is doing the same engine swap that I'm doing except he's doing it in a newer model Ford Ranger. They are really helpful.

 

Maybe we at the FFHF can be the go to people when they start swapping the hybrid drivetrain into 1980s cars? :hysterical:
