March Hybrid Sales Figures

This has the total sales for all makes of hybrids in March:

Ford sold 3,417 FFHs, which was down 10.2% from February, which was a big surprise to me. With all the new members here, I was expecting at least a 10% increase.

It's proably due to the fact that Ford JUST started shipping the HyTi's They probably don't count them as sold until the customer gets the keys. Most of the Hyti customers here are still waiting for their cars.

I too was surprised that Hybrid sales were lower in March than in February.

Maybe the energi ramp-up cut into hybrid production. Maybe there was a battery shortage.

There could be a number of reasons. It wasn't a significant drop, but March does have more days than February.

There was a production gap in January, that could account for the drop.

The TBD pileup and subsequent shipments/deliveries could have put a hump in earlier figures too.

Here is something to add to the discussion. My dealer has no hybrids, and another dealer was asking if he had one so they could have a customer test drive it. However, :) he does have a used one that they were able to use. Shortage of hybrids is what I see by this.

Probably the production lag. I remember reading somewhere that they cant keep up with demand on the Fusion orders. this is why Flat plant is picking up the Fusion.

I noticed the same at a local Ford dealership I drive past on the way to visit my folks. In Feb, they had about 5 on the lot that faces the road. There haven't been any there for several weeks now.
