Shortage of Railcars (US and Canada)

Ford reports that railways are currently experiencing a shortage of railcars in the US and in Canada. This shortage is due to an industry wide seasonal peak in volume and is not expected to last beyond mid-April. Ford also states that they are monitoring the situation and will work to minimize any shipping delays.

Didn't see any in November but further down that page was this one from last April. Also, the current one didn't mention a problem in Mexico. :)

Decreased Rail Capacity Delays OEM Shipments

 

The automotive industry is experiencing delays in shipments due to a shortage of available railcars. GM, Chrysler, Ford, and Toyota are working diligently to fulfill orders on time while urging railroads to continue increasing capacity. The OEMs report that the railroads are responding by purchasing new cars and the situation is improving.

That is the same story I heard in October when my car had a stop ship order on it.

"Fill orders on time" Wait, what? They have an "on time" for order deliveries... my (so far) 11 week wait is questioning that statement.
