Kaleido Report post Posted March 10, 2013 My Rear camera shows me my bumper and licence plate at the bottom of the screen, I never noticed this before, is that what everybody else sees with theirs? About one inch of the lower screen shows me this, the rest of the screen is fine showing me a perfect rear view.

RedLdr1 Report post Posted March 10, 2013 Same here, the lens has a fairly wide angle.....
B25Nut Report post Posted March 10, 2013 I love the wide angle. I think they make the cross traffic sensors unnecessary. It gives you adequate warning of any oncoming cars and people in parking lots. I have also found, at least with the Dune interior, the carpeting behind the rear seats is reflected in the rear window, due to its raked-back angle (one of the prices for beauty). Depending on the sun angle, this can significantly impede the view to the rear. The same thing occurs when it rains. The rear view camera is very helpful in these situations. For me, it is a must have option.

nv rick Report post Posted May 11, 2013 Thanks everyone, I just never noticed it before I guess and I thought my camera slipped down or something.I'm on my second Lincoln MKS and I only noticed this about a month ago. It only took me about four years to see this, lol. Because of a really bad neck, I completely rely on the camera and/or mirrors when backing up. The audible alert also helps. whizkid21 Report post Posted May 18, 2013 Hi.... Being able to see your rear bumper is actually a REALLY important frame of reference for using the camera while backing up. My friend has a year old Honda CRV... With a backup camera on a 4" inch screen (OEM... small screen... so sad lol)... But in his camera view you CANNOT see the rear bumper of the CRV. This makes the camera almost totally useless for parallel parking, as you can't really tell how far your bumper is from the car behind you. Still good to make sure you're noting to mow over a squirrel or a small child. So seeing that bumper is a very good thing!!
GrayStrider Report post Posted July 24, 2013 So are all of the rear cameras like that, so you see your bumper in about 1 inch of the display? We've had the car since November 28 and I seriously only noticed it this month (July). I swear it didn't show the bumper when we first got the car, or did I just not notice it until now?!? murphy Report post Posted July 24, 2013 You didn't notice it. My 2010 Fusion Hybrid was the same way. I didn't notice it for about 2 years.
GrayStrider Report post Posted July 25, 2013 Thanks for the update. Funny to not notice something like that for so long!
