Sure, I'm happy with my MPG but I don't have my FFH yet :) I almost voted, but didn't want to skew your results too bad!

Fynack - Since the answer has to be Yes or No, you won't get the results you want. Since I'm getting more than twice the mileage of last vehicle, of course I'm happy with my MPG. But if there was scale rating of 5 to 1 with five being ecstatic, I'd give the FFH a 4.

If you do a 1 to 5 scale then 3 would have to be neutral.

1 very bad

2 bad

3 neutral

4 good

5 ecstatic (very good)

 

 

This is just a general count of happiness :) and unhappiness :(

It depends on what your last vehicle was i suppose. If my last vehicle was a hummer H2 then id guess id be happy with a anything.

Well, fwiw, my last daily driver was a 11FFH. I voted yes and, on your 1-5 scale, would rate it a 4. I bought this one expecting a 10% (3-4) mpg improvement, when it's all said and done - break in, seasonality, etc.

 

So far it looks on track to do that, or perhaps a bit better. And that is with the bigger tires and driving a bit faster with the 13 than I did with the 11.

I'm pretty happy, actually. The longer I drive it, the better things seem to get. Today on the short drive home I averaged 45mpg. 59* outside, no power drains (no A/C and no heat) and a cold start. Not bad for a short trip.

 

I think that, initially, I was a little bit disappointed, but perhaps there is something to the break-in thing, or perhaps I'm learning the car better, or perhaps it's about temperatures, or maybe a combination. But I am less worried about it than I was a couple of weeks ago, which is good.

After today and how this car handles, screw the MPG. Even if it only gets 35, no other car like it can do the same it does for the price I paid! Now that I found a sweet spot, just going to play with it until I can nail it every time, and hope that down the line Ford finds and fixes it

 

Besides its is the coolest damned car on the road!

gee you made it seem like I was going around I is suein Ford! Nope, just playing my part in the CAL since I have some damned good information built up. Only thing I want Ford to do is get my car to be as good as Jeff's!

I agree on the 1-5 scale, I'm at a 4. I'm hoping that in the warmer weather that will go up to a 5

on MPG a 2, on the car itself a 5! Had I not liked the car so much, it would have been GONE, then again, had I not liked it, I never would have bought it and would still be driving my F150.

I think I agree with some of the others here. I absolutely love the car. Definitely a 5 out of 5. If the mileage were 47, as advertised, it would be a 5 out of 5. But, if they rated it at 40 and I was getting 40, I would also rate it a 5 out of 5. We just bought it. Less than 300 miles on it now, and 130 of those were on it when we bought it. (It was a dealer trade from, well, 130 miles away.) The car average says 34.x miles per gallon. But, I notice in my trips that I'm averaging just over 40.

 

If the car computer catches up to that 40+ miles per gallon and that turns out to be reality, then I'm a 4 out of 4. Again, just taking one off because of the advertised mpg. Would I trade my car in for anything? No.

 

I do notice that the Toyota Camry Hybrid takes about a 2 mpg ding for the XLE vs. the LE. It seems reasonable that this car would do that as well. You order the Titanium or the SE loaded and you only get say 43 or 45 mpg. But, again, it's what is advertised.

My FFH is beating my C-Max by around 4MPG when looking at the same break-in mileage range. In overall MPG they are pretty close as shown by Fuelly.... I'm quite happy with them both...and I know the MPG on both of them will go up if it ever warms up around here!

I tried to get my wife into a CMax cause she drives her Escape like a sprint cup car, but she wouldnt agree to taking another car payment :/ we saw a bunch of cmax/grand cmaxs in italy in 2011 and i told her they were coming to US and she hated those too lol.

I,ve got 800 miles on the car and it gains MPG every time I drive by at least 6 tenths every trip on the lifetime average. I'm up to 38.5, and on short trips it seems to be getting around 42 in this cool weather. I would vote a yes at this point as it improves every trip. Its hilly here so its hard to get the same average on oppisite directions on my daily drive.

I am very dissapointed in my mileage. It might start going up a bit due to winter being gone here in Oregon. I definitly got a lemon as far as the MPG goes! :( Besides that I love the car.

How far is your normal commute? Does the car get parked outside overnight or in a garage?

100% brake score

29 MPG

 

I started out with a 90% charged battery, always accelerated gradually, left the heat on (getting to work cold makes me grouchy). I guess I'll have to decide what makes me less grouchy, being cold or crappy mileage.

I started out with a 90% charged battery, always accelerated gradually, left the heat on (getting to work cold makes me grouchy). I guess I'll have to decide what makes me less grouchy, being cold or crappy mileage.

There's the problem. 5 miles is not far enough for the car to warm up and start becoming fuel efficient. It takes at least 2-3 miles before it goes into closed loop. When it gets warmer out and you no longer need heat, or hot emissions, then the MPG will improve a bit on short trips, but nothing great.

 

You really should take a long trip in it for at least an hour or two of varying speeds. Reset all your trip info, and lifetime then go take a nice long drive and see what it gets. If you were driving an hour each way for 30 miles and got that, then a good bitch fest is needed, but the short trips are what kills it.
