Filled last night, 45 MPG on the nose, very close to Trip 2.

Again 47 coming in.

Dash lifetime since leaving the dealer is .1 higher than lifetime from factory, never reset the base MPG, the car had 3 miles on it, so no reason to.

Okay I'm posting this not because it's an example of excessively good MPG, but instead because of the fuel efficiency at 75mph. Note I do not have the software update yet; I'm scheduled to get that tomorrow AM. This picture was taken on a day when it was about 101 outside with the AC set on 73 degrees. I was on I-45 in the Woodlands (north of Houston) on flat terrain with the cruise set to 75mph. As you can see, the instantaneous MPG is above 40, and looks to be about 42-43. This was not a fluke, and so long as traffic didn't make me slow down or speed up, my mileage pretty much stayed right there. What's surprising is that I kept hearing that driving faster than 70 will with the AC on will kill your mileage. That definitely isn't the case all the time. Ironically, I have gotten better mileage at 75 mph than I have at 65 mph. For you safety buffs, note I did not take this picture, the passenger did.

I took a trip out to Temecula today from LAX area, temp was between 74 at LAX to 89 in Temecula then reversed coming back home. A/C was set to 70 deg F both ways (I set it at 70 because I can and I don't like being uncomfortable just to save a few MPG). 65 miles were at 70 mph 110 miles were at 65 and 10 were at those stop and go 35 and below speeds, these distances are estimates. I used ACC both ways except when FWY speeds dropped below the low cutoff and shut the ACC off ,when traffic sped up I just hit resume. I just let the ACC do it's thing. I have had the PCM Calibration done. On the slight downhill stretches the ICE shut off and EV took over, it was strange at first seeing EV at 70 mph.

I just had my best trip today. It was almost 5 miles to Lowe's.

 

Pretty darn happy!

Actually I made a stop at Wawa to pick up a cup of coffee first. That was about a 2 mile trip. I have no idea what the milage was for that trip as I just ran in and out of the store and didn't look at the screen. So the engine had a couple miles to warm up.

Visited my family up in the mountains this past weekend. Last time I went home my car only had about 2000 miles on it and I got 42.2 mpg over 220 miles. This time I was at 4000 miles and got 44.7 mpg over 280 miles.

I've never come close to EPA estimates in any of my other vehicles, so I was expecting 38-40 mpg when I bought the car and hoping for 42. Being within 2.5 mpg of EPA estimates in mountainous terrain makes me ecstatic.

Took a trip this past weekend from Connersville, IN to Raleigh, NC 574 miles, since this was my first real road trip with the car I ran the speed limits on the way down with the A/C on and used Eco Cruise and I made it all the way there and some additional running around, I got 610 miles on this tank and it still showed 9 miles to empty. Filled up again before heading back home ran the same route with A/C on and Eco Cruise but wanted to see what running 5-10 MPH over the speed limit the whole way back would do to my MPG, I was suprised that it was only about a 2 MPG difference. Showed 45.3 on the way down and 43.2 for the return trip was very happy both ways with the MPG that I got with all of the mountains and such. Would like to have had the software update before this trip but could not get it done before we left, going in this week for the update. Will be making the same trip in a few weeks and will use this to see what the software update does, will post when I get back from the second trip.

I think I passed you the other day, lol. I'm on that road twice every day headed from and to the Woodlands.

First full commute after the PCM update and I broke my old record and I definitely didn't baby it.

First trip after the update, however, it was from my house down route 14, and I haven't been on that road for a long time, not since the first day I got it, so nothing to compare to. I will know more after tomorrow.

I just looked at my gas cubby app again and finally I don't see the CA road trip data anymore. The time periods are fixed so 3 month selection now shows the last 3 month of commuting to work only and that's what I bought my FFH for.

 

Looking at the average makes me very happy.

Long road trips are just an additional treat and even at 40 MPG I'm still getting twice the MPG than my wife's Explorer which we would have used in the past.

On the way home from dinner tonight-- temp 93, auto-started, AC set to 74, drove up to 60 mph, and total trip of about 12 miles.

MPG of 59.8!!

No "granny" driving either.

But the above was one of the many good trips that enabled the below milestone in Lifetime MPG -

The display is still slightly inflated over the manual calculation at the pump (unless they are slightly ripping us off) which is 48.1 on Fuelly as of today, but still happy that it's been able to continue to climb during the summertime.

Congrats jeff_h very nice lifetime # I'm just happy to see 50 MPG on a tank rather than lifetime yet.

It would seem that "cool" trumps "rain". Yesterday, I drove 25 city/highway miles in the rain and got 51 MPG. With the summer heat lately, I would normally have expected mid 40s.

 

And then the trip coming home at night, still raining, but temps down to low 80s, the trip yielded 61 MPG.

 

I cannot wait for this summer heat to be over so I can consistently get these kind of numbers.

Did something right today on way home from work. Usually the same trip nets me mid- to upper 40's with the rare low 50's. Must have been the no A/C and temps in the 70s.
