lmp180psu Report post Posted January 25, 2013 On Tuesday, the car recognized my work. Not sure how many places it can recognize. So far its 3 for me.
jeff_h Report post Posted January 25, 2013 I have not seen the + sign yet but I will see if it shows up. I have about 2000 miles on the car and do not remember seeing it yet. The below is from page 152 of the owner's manual. From the last line below, this means that when a tripis reset it clears them out (or starts them at square one which might prevent them from being remembered)? Don't know if I'm understanding it correctly. EV+ ModeYour vehicle recognizes your frequent destinations and allows for more EV driving as you approach them. For example, when nearing your home it should be easier to stay in electric mode. The EV indicator displays EV+ when this mode is active. Frequent destinations are learned by your vehicle. These locations can be cleared through the information display. The EV+ feature can also be turned off. See Information Displays (page 84). The EV mode usage changes are based on the following criteria:• 1/4 mile (400 meters) from a familiar destination, your vehicle will begin to use more EV driving.• 1/8 mile (200 meters) from a familiar destination, your vehicle will use as much EV driving as permitted by EV+.• Infrequent destinations have no increase in EV driving. Note: Learning frequent destination takes approximately two to four weeks of use.Note: Familiar destination locations are reset through the information display when the trip information is reset. lmp180psu Report post Posted January 25, 2013 Maybe there is confusion between trip computer reset and lifetime summary reset. I reset my trip computer A during each fillup, and the EV+ locations have not had to be learned again. I think if you do a lifetime reset, the car will need to learn locations again. B25Nut Report post Posted January 26, 2013 I have not seen the + sign yet but I will see if it shows up. I have about 2000 miles on the car and do not remember seeing it yet.Have you turned EV+ on? The system should have learned your home a long time ago. I actually didn't notice that the blue E became E+ until I had over 2K miles on mine. My need for reading glasses is probably a factor in that. BTW, welcome to the board!
acdii Report post Posted January 26, 2013 If you reset both trips, then it has to relearn. As long as one Trip is still going, it will continue to know.
GreenAussie Report post Posted February 5, 2013 My car hit EV+ mode for the first time yesterday about 1 mile from home. Amazing how much excitment a little "+" can do :headspin: . The car has only done 250 miles, but I am wondering if the frequency of triggering this has to do with the satnav. I added work and home to the nav and am calling them out as desternations when I drive. Maybe some of you guys that have not got the "+" yet could try that and see if it makes a difference? hermans Report post Posted February 5, 2013 I get the EV+ without destinations entered into the nav. I was on roads 40+ miles from my home and have never been on them with the 2013 and the EV+ came on.
shaggy314 Report post Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) If you go to the youtube page that Ford has, it explains a LOT of this in 1-2 minute videos. The EV+ destinations as via the lifetime stats. They say resetting that also reset the frequent destinations. I'm considering burning the 25 minute long version on DVD for my delaer to hand out... I love these things:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5cYT5zH-Yg Edited February 20, 2013 by shaggy314
GrySql Report post Posted February 15, 2013 I turned off the EV+ from the Left Display>Settings>Driver Assist>EV+ Mode>On or Off.With the location, traffic and stop lights/signals situated as they are as I return home the car now ends up with a better Li-on battery SOC when I park it.When I restart in the garage I have about 3/4 SOC instead of 1/2 or below as before. This works to my advantage when the engine is cold because it does not need to recharge at that time.My weather is a lot milder than you snow bound folks. It is within using EV mode after less than a mile this way. acdii Report post Posted February 15, 2013 Mine will be in EV until I pull out of my drive way, unless dummy me forgets to turn the HVAC off before shutting the car off the night before. 1 lmp180psu reacted to this
Jamone Report post Posted February 16, 2013 Mine has reconized my house after the first couple weeks. It just started to reconize my work this week at 2800 miles. I have one of the two trips that I have never reset.
acdii Report post Posted February 16, 2013 As long as one trip is kept unchanged it will maintain the EV+ settings.
storksb Report post Posted February 18, 2013 My FFH learnt my home within 3days and gave me the +, as for work out still hasn't learnt ,but that may be due to me having 3 differing work locations.

BeerNuts Report post Posted March 7, 2013 I have had my 2013 two weeks and it knows my House, Work, and my son's school. Very cool!
acdii Report post Posted March 7, 2013 Surprisingly enough mine picked up my house in under a week. I haven't looked to see if my work is EV+ yet.
scott_farmer Report post Posted March 7, 2013 My car picked up my house for EV+ at about 500 miles.(less than 2 weeks) Today it picked up my office for the first time at 1025 miles. It was really nice going up 6 floors in the parking garage on EV mode. I can usually only make it 3 or 4 floors before the ICE kicks in.

corncobs Report post Posted April 5, 2013 As you can see in my signature EV+ recognized my house after only few times coming home and within a week. I'm starting to believe that EV+ isn't just using the GPS location but also a specific driving pattern.Driving home today I recorded the full EV+ operation cycle and its starts 1/2 mile from my house. After it activates I'm going thru 3 intersections with all way stops with some short “sprints” in between.Maybe the car is smart enough to memorize certain patterns between acceleration and deceleration which helps to select a frequent destination sooner or later. It would be interesting to see/hear what you guys think if this could be a possibility.
JSKershaw Report post Posted April 5, 2013 My house was recognized in about 4 days, but to this date my work has not been recognized yet. Does anyone get EV+ in more than one location? 1 corncobs reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted April 5, 2013 JSKershaw lock at the first post of this page (3) by BeerNuts his car already knows 3 locations. You are right it would be interesting to hear how many locations the FFH can learn.
acdii Report post Posted April 5, 2013 Yeah, the one I had was locked onto my dealership, house, and work. I think it memorizes each place the ignition was turned off multiple times, and does use GPS. Keep in mind even non nav units have GPS for the Sync 911 services. 1 corncobs reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted April 5, 2013 OK like that idea with the ignition. I guess most owners here would probably say that it recognized home first. So while playing with all the electronic toys in our driveways or garages could have triggered EV+ much sooner. I think the one EV+ location we could all live without is the recognition of our dealers location. ? 1 acdii reacted to this
