lmp180psu Report post Posted January 12, 2013 I am not sure if this is an issue or not, but after almost 3 weeks of owning my hybrid, the only location that my car recognizes to go into EV+ mode is my partner's house. For the first few days because of time off and the holidays, I was at his house more than usual and the car recognized it in 4-5 days. Now that I have been back to work full time the last 2 weeks, and of course home at least half the time when I don't visit him, I would have thought the car would recognize home and work by now. I prefer not to do a lifetime reset since I would like to keep the stats, but wondering if I need to do that. I know the manual says it may take up to a month remember frequent locations, so that is part of the reason I was surprised it only took 4-5 days with my partner's house. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.
terryb Report post Posted January 12, 2013 You may as well settle in and wait for the car to do its thing. It knows its rules better than you do and according to its rules you haven't distinguished your home and work locations to its satisfaction. 1 lmp180psu reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted January 12, 2013 I think mine finally found my ends. When heading in the last few miles I noticed nearly a full charge, then can stay in EV nearly all the way there. Then again, so does my other car, but it never has a full charge except during a recon cycle.
fusionTX Report post Posted January 12, 2013 Is there a limit to how many places EV+ can learn?

Ric Report post Posted January 13, 2013 I wonder how you know when it has "learned" a place? You will see a "+" sign next to the EV. Mine found my home after about a week. When I hit 1000 miles and the MFT software was updated to 3.5.1, I reset the lifetime information. It has not found our home yet. I'm sure it will. Give it a little time. Mine came with 3.5.1 from the factory and it works for me. Took about a week.

B25Nut Report post Posted January 15, 2013 After getting the 3.5.1 update, it took less than a week for mine to relearn three locations that I go to almost daily. When I get within about 1/4-1/2 of a mile away, it switches to EV+. 1 fusionTX reacted to this

As I.mentioned it took 4-5 days for my partner's house, but nowhere else so far. Very odd.
acdii Report post Posted January 15, 2013 So the blue EV that comes on under the gauge gets a + added to it? I dont recall ever seeing it.

acdii Report post Posted January 15, 2013 gonna switch to empower and see if I get the +. After 5400 miles it should be by now, at least half those miles are to and from work. Though going home changes depending on which way I come home, going to work is always the same 5 days a week.

lmp180psu Report post Posted January 15, 2013 Oh, and i get the + even if i take a slightly different route to get to his house. It goes to EV+ based on distance from his house not just direction i am coming from.

B25Nut Report post Posted January 19, 2013 Acdii: You may not be seeing EV+ due to this on page 152 in the owner's manual:"Familiar destinations locations are reset through the information display when the trip information is reset"Using Trip 1 or 2 to get short trip MPG numbers and then resetting them is erasing the frequent locations.Does the car need to be equipped with Navigation for EV+ to work?
