Does the USB port charge an iPhone?

If I have my iPhone plugged into the FFH's USB port, will it charge my phone?

The compatibility document doesn't show whether the iPhone 5 will charge over USB, but previous versions do charge. The iPad will definitely not charge as it requires more juice.

Only while the vehicle is in accessory mode or running. It will not charge though USB if the vehicle is off. You can however plug in a 12V sub adapter into the 12V port and charge with the vehicle off as the 12V port is always typically hot in fords..

Not any more, the jack is now off with the key, at least in the Hybrid.

 

As far as charging, it the cable for the 5 charges on a laptop, the car will charge it. You can also charge an ipad, it just takes a lot longer, and the ipad shows it not charging. It will maintain SOC while its screen is on, but if screen is off and just streaming music, it will charge slowly.

When it was working mine would charge my ZUNE but only when the car is running. That's all you need anyway. Not need to charge when not driving anyway. Now mine won't recognize my ZUNE. Need to take it in to the dealer soon anyway to have a few other things looked at. Mileage is the big one or lack of mpg.

Yes you can. You have to start SIRI on the iPhone and the rest is down via bluetooth, speakers, and mic.
