The Scoop on JOB2 Start Date for 2013 - Fusion Hybrid Titanium and Energi

Provided you can actually reach anyone at customer service. I really think this will be my last new Ford, the crap they are pulling with the one I have now has soured me to no end. I wanted this to be my last new car for quite some time, one I could really enjoy and rely upon, well I do enjoy it, but certainly do not think it will be reliable.

Should Mazda win, I'll lose a few mpg, but paying 4-5K for a better equipped car (with 19" H spoke wheels and almond leather interior) will soften that blow a fair bit.

 

True, Mazda6 too are in short supply ... but they are actually producing the cars they have been advertising and the local Mazda dealer is willing to honor my USAA (as was my Ford dealer) no haggle price.

 

The way I feel now whichever manufacturer can meet my demand with supply gets my money - and my patient private buyer gets my current car.

 

I doubt I am the only potential buyer suffering from similar frustration with Ford.

Customer Care responds to actionable items like "I plan to write a letter to the Board of Directors because I simply cannot get adequate assistance". Complaints don't get the job done unless there is a cause/effect relationship. All it takes is the price of a stamp and a few moments of your time if you get no assistance. I've never had any problem calling in at the (800) 334-4375 number and reaching a representative. I'm truly sorry hearing about your experience and hope you get some help. Good luck.

My patience is also wearing thin with Ford.....ordered a HyTi on November 8th and was told by sales mngr that car may take as long as early January to get.... now I'm thinking he may have meant Jan 2014 !!! this was to be a new car for my wife....thought the January 2013 date was for real so I sold her old car 6 weeks ago....

she is not a happy person. Afraid to tell her some of the dates I'm seeing on this site....but I'll wait a bit longer ....its sought of like moving around to different lines at a supermarket to get out faster...never works....with my luck the day I buy something else will be the day Ford announces the Hytis are rolling off the production line.

The Mazda 6 also cought my eye a few weeks ago....everything on the car looks extremely nice EXCEPT for some inexplicable reason thay stuck a 5" Nav screen in the car.....the reviews rave about the car BUT say the inside looks like it was designed and finished when someone realized they forgot to put in the Navigation screen

and then just through someting in there fast.......but I'll wait....if I understand everything I've been reading on this site..with any luck we may see some production dates scheduled by the end of this week.

I hear ya and I'm as anxious as everyone also. Scheduling takes place on Thursday nights, so Friday is the day to know something happened. Remember, though, that everyone may not get scheduled the first scheduling week.

I toyed with the idea of a similarly equipped SE ... but I am a bit of an audiophile and the inability to upgrade the sound system was a deal breakers there. I know I could do so after market, but at extra cost and hassle

 

Ah well, there are certainly MUCH worse problems in life than what beautiful new car to buy.

We all should see at least one of us scheduled by Friday Feb 15.

I will ask cyberdman for an update sometime Thursday am and will see the results Friday morn.

I just hope they do not have to go thru the "OK to sell" scenario, since the HyTi is just a trim upgrade!

After your post about jumping ship to go with the 2014 Mazda 6, I visited the Mazda website and checked it out.

While I like a lot of its features in my estimation it doesn't come close to the Fusion Hybrid Titanium, hang in there you will be happy you did!

Yea ... when I told my wife that my latest paroxysm of frustration had brought another potential car into the mix she was disappointed. Seems she is a fan of the Fusion as well.

I've been tinkering with the idea of having the dealer order me one if the Ford engineer tells me nothing wrong again. They can keep my car on the back lot until the new one comes in, by that time the time will match the miles and balance out.

 

There is a dealer in Washington state that has an Energi Ti listed, not sure if they actually have it on hand, but they are asking 50K for it. They are asking at least 5K over sticker on all their Hybrids.

After seeing the Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat next to Deep Impact Blue at the car show, I changed my order to Ruby (SS). Waiting for a DORA which may come by Wed or Thurs. Hope to be able to change. Of course, I also hope this won't throw me to the end of the line. If it does, you can all thank me for shoving you up a notch in production ;)

I like them both, prefer the blue though, but that Ruby Red was my choice on the Cmax if that was what I got.

Yeah, I liked them both also. Tough choice. Would have been easier with a Dune interior.

oh yeah, Dune and Red, good Combo, Black and Blue work very good together. Thats what I have. Our 2010 has dune like leather, its a very dark green car, with the light interior, but probably would look better in black. Its after market leather, the car was thought to have the 505A package, but turned out not to be the case, it was the regular package with Nav added, so the dealer took care of it by having leather installed for us, no charge. We bought it used out of state through them.

Well, I'm sorry to say that I've jumped ship, or actually never got on the ship. My dealer finally acknowledged that I could order the Hybrid Ti last Friday. I had to e-mail them asking about it - not once did they initiate with me other than sending me some spam about having sales. This led me to start thinking about other cars, which led to wanting the carpool stickers (in CA). Long story short... I ended up leasing a Volt because my commute is about 30 miles and my work has free chargers. I'll revisit the Fusion when the lease is about up (and any kinks in the in the new model have been ironed out). Thanks everyone for your experiences and responses. I was very close to ordering the Ti, but ultimately went a different way.

Where are you able to plug in that VIN and see the specs etc? I've been waiting and waiting for a production date because my dealer says they can't give me an purchase exact price until the production has started.

You dealer is not telling you the truth. There are many people here who have already ordered their Hybrid Titaniums, including myself.

Not yet, but the build date is there... from looking at past VINs it takes a few days for the full specs/options to be accessible in Etis, no idea why. However you can check out the window sticker - http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=3FA6P0RU9DR257682

 

But the part of not being able to give an exact purchase price, that sounds fishy as my dealer had that back in November when I placed order #2 and I still have the copy of the purchase order and agreed-upon pricing too... so if I win the lotto in the next few weeks I will then have two Ruby Reds. :D But for the dealer to say they aren'y sure how much it will cost, that sounds like waffling to inflate the price to me, but what do I know...

Yeah. The dealer said he's been burned in the past because any dealer that quotes you a price is just guessing until the actual production start and the prices are set in stone. I guess things like dealer holdback are not set yet? Who knows.

 

In definitely shopping around but I'm getting a lot of dealers trying to get me for thousands over invoice for a factory order and that doesn't do it for me. They should only get 3% over the invoice, tops, and even 3% is not the kind of deal I want.

I may have to try some dealerships down south.

If you're not into a retail order and waiting around for it, in that case you have some looking around to do... but that earlier dealer comment about not knowing what the price will be, still sounds strange as the order system had the MSRP prices loaded into it, and those who placed X-plan had both sets of prices loaded in, so not sure how the dealer does not know the prices... whatever.
