The Scoop on JOB2 Start Date for 2013 - Fusion Hybrid Titanium and Energi

Recommended Posts

Where are you able to plug in that VIN and see the specs etc? I've been waiting and waiting for a production date because my dealer says they can't give me an purchase exact price until the production has started.

They can definitely get the MSRP price and place an order. The exact price they're referring to, might be the final out the door price. That's not available because the incentives change all the time and the license & title fees change based on when you pick up the car. My dealer can't look up incentives without a VIN. They have a big incentive sheet, but they don't want to use it - they want to look up specific cars in Vincent.

Anyone know the best incentives on the FFHT. I have good credit so do you think now i can get a 0% interest rate?

I'm curious where you guys are getting your numbers for when you go in to negotiate. I'm using kbb.com, edmunds and a few other sites and they all say my invoice 34,210. I've had some dealers come back claiming invoices are higher. I'm guessing the dealers are just bs'ing to get a better deal. How did you guys out there go about negotitations?

The prices are on the ford.com Fusion build & price site which, are the same as the sites you mentioned.

The prices that my dealer had on fords online ordering system (October 29, 2012) were the same as fords build and price.

The Ford site for instance said my MSRP build price would be $37,150, but kbb invoice price came to $34,210 for that same car with the same options. So as far as I know the Ford site only tells you the MSRP, not the Invoice price.

A very very long time ago I worked for Philco-Ford and could buy direct from Ford.

I filled out the order form and it went direct to Ford. There was no dealer involved in the ordering process.

The only car I purchased that way worked out to cost me about 75% of the base sticker price plus 77% of the options price plus $100 for a dealer to process delivery of the car.

It sounds like it doesn't work that way anymore.

no it doesnt give invoice, only MSRP.

Right, the Ford site only gives MSRP. So i'm wondering if the invoice prices I'm seeing on the other sites are accurate, or even possibly inflated a bit.

I ordered with X-plan - no negotiations needed. My Dora listed the MSRP, invoice and X-plan price. If you don't have an X-plan PIN, you can get one fairly easy by signing up for a club.

Did you pay invoice with your xplan? What club would I sign up for to get a pin?

On the invoice issue - I also had this issue and what I found out is that invoice in those sites does not include a couple of things you will see on the invoices a dealer might give you. The ones I remember are "advertising fee/charge" and "fuel". I heard from others in these forums these are legit. The first one is an amount the manufacturer charges the dealers for (local?) ads. The other one well, for fuel (and it's much smaller)

From memory, combined I think they amount to $400-500. It probably varies a bit from place and different manufacturers.

As others, I also bought my Fusion using X-Plan.

I need to figure out how to get a PIN for this X-plan it seems. Did you pay under invoice with the X-plan?

Like others said, X-plan pricing is not negotiable.

And just as available publicly as MSRP on Ford sites, if you have a partner code and come to the "build your Ford" site from fordpartner.com

It's about $150-200 over invoice.

Before any rebates.

I had $500 public and $750 private rebates.

$150-200 over invoice before or after taxes, fees, tags? Sorry for being a pain, I'm just trying to figure this X-plan out :sos:

So it sounds like I need to buy Ford stock or know someone with another PIN to get this plan, right?

You can get it through some third party (mustang club, aviation organization etc) those most make you wait 6 months to use.

There is a thread on the blueovalforums where generous Ford folks dole out pins to posters. The metric used varies, I presume, by the one doing the pin granting.

I think there is less of that lately for some reason.

If you are a USAA member Ford has a no haggle price that the local manager at a nearby Ford shop is under the X-plan.

Good luck however you proceed.

I'd pay a bit more upfront to avoid a version like acdii's.

Also, regarding how to get PINs. As Pers69 says, you will find better info in the blue oval forums. I got mine through my wife's employer. I heard in these forums the Mustang Club of America requires 60 days as a member (and a $50/ year membership fee) before you can get a PIN.

Join EAA, and you can get a PIN. At least it was like that a year or so ago, haven't checked recently. You get a great magazine and some stickers too if you like aviation, that is.

hehe I feel famous now!

I custom ordered mine through Autoland, my Credit Union's auto buying service.

Paid invoice minus a $500 Ford rebate, took delivery in 6 weeks from order forwarded for processing, no money down.

Local taxes and registration were on top of that.

Painless, did it over the phone & email until the final actual paper signing.

I requested a Ford Fusion brochure from Ford Customer Service about 3 weeks ago and have yet to receive anything other than a medium gauge paper, 3 or 4 page Fusion advertisement in the mail - no $750 rebate inside. Can someone who has received the brochure which included the $750 rebate describe his/her brochure for me? It would be nice to take advantage of a $750 rebate like others receiving the brochure.

In case some of you don't read all the FB Fusion posts, Trina just posted this today:

Just spoke with our Fusion Brand Manager and got some more information. Production for the Hybrid Titanium models have not been scheduled for production yet. There are some Fusion Energi’s awaiting shipment because they are waiting for the “Okay to Buy.” Currently no Titanium models have been built, but we are expecting production to begin in March. We usually allow for 21 days of delivery time after that so we are looking at late April, or potentially later, before we see any arrive.

Jeff gave her the VIN for the ONE HyTy and a few EnergiTy, so she's looking at those too. Looks like we're in for a looonggggg wait :(
