xo151 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 I'm starting to look at the new 2014 Mazda 6 because of this delay. I'll probably wait another month before pulling the trigger... but I'm starting to get tempted by upcoming non-hybrid type cars.
cwb1183 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) No way in hell that can be true.I agree, can't be true.I have a copy of the email that my dealer sent to ford regional, with the reply of "schedule 2/14 build 3/4".They would loose a lot of orders if that were true! acdii Report post Posted February 7, 2013 I wonder why it is so hard for them to build TiHy's? I mean, really, the majority of the car is the same, just some external features, and interior trim. Unless its an issue making the battery and electrical work with the Sony system.
cwb1183 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 My guess is it has more to do with getting a stock of energi's out in dealer hands. The energi was announced at the original announcement date with availability early 2013. As we know the Hybrid Ti wasn't announced until October '12 I think the whole TDB mess is what screwed things up..... My 2 cents anyway.
dlramon Report post Posted February 7, 2013 I called Ford Customer Service yesterday and was informed that Ruby Red Fusion Titanium Hybrids had began production. I''m calling back today to check on a clarification - not sure if the agent had actually said production scheduling or production assembly.
xo151 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 I called Ford Customer Service yesterday and was informed that Ruby Red Fusion Titanium Hybrids had began production. I''m calling back today to check on a clarification - not sure if the agent had actually said production scheduling or production assembly. Why just one color? Is that how they usually do it? Early this morning I finally got an e-mail response from Ford Customer care (from a question I sent 2 weeks ago). Part of it says: "We understand that you would like to place an order for the new Fusion Hybrid Titanium. At this time, the Fusion Hybrid Titanium can be ordered through your local dealership." So I hope this means things are getting back on track.
acdii Report post Posted February 7, 2013 Well I believe they paint in batches, so it is possible they started with the Ruby first.

I still have a standing Ruby Red FFH Titanium order, will ask for another cyberdman update next week and see if maybe there is new info, ya never know... dlramon Report post Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) As it turns out, I misinformed everyone earlier. Ruby Red Fusion Titanium Energi started in production and not Ruby Red Fusion Titanium Hybrids. I called my dealer today and he informed me that the most current information he has is that production scheduling will begin (as others on this forum have already stated) on Feb. 14. I questioned him about the real likelyhood of Ford delivering Titanium Hybrids as early as the end of March and he replied that Ford may even be able to deliver earlier than the end of March. Fastronaut Report post Posted February 8, 2013 There is evidently light at the end of the tunnel. It's always been there, but the length of the tunnel seems to change. ;) Valentine's Day can't come soon enough for scheduling.

acdii Report post Posted February 8, 2013 I WILL be very envious of you who do get the HyTi! The one thing that I cant get in the SE is the Sony system, which I really do miss. This summer, provided the car gets fixed, I will be checking out some stealth systems that can meet or beat the Sony sound. I do not want anything showing, but want it to sound good. This summer, provided the car gets fixed, I will be checking out some stealth systems that can meet or beat the Sony sound. I do not want anything showing, but want it to sound good. I was blown away with the Sony system in the regular Titanium and thus made it a major selling point for me ordering (whenever that will be) the Hybrid Titanium. The sound system rivals or beats sounds systems I've heard in much much more expensive cars. To me the SE sound system doesn't come close.
acdii Report post Posted February 8, 2013 Yeah, I have the Sony in our 2010, and there is added sound deadeners in that car so the bass is really good.
nehmia Report post Posted February 9, 2013 You know I haven't heard much talk about the Sony system... But it seems to be impressive! This has reaffirmed my decision to go with the FFH Ti.

Fastronaut Report post Posted February 9, 2013 One can certainly hope. Have they now stopped shipping cars to FRAP? Any word on HyTi build start?Evidently they're still sending to FRAP. The Ford Rep knew less about HyTi scheduling, but it's starting to look like things should be going our way in February ... I hope. 1 coach81 reacted to this

pers69 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Excuse me while i rant a moment. We'll see if their quality and production issues are behind them ... though my patience is wearing a bit thin of late, I'm afraid. Notably when it seems the Energi bumped the HyTi dates even further back and rumors skipping about the web (cause Ford won't deign to tell its potential customers anything) running the gamut from scheduling start of next week to maybe never. My daily commute is mostly steady state hwy at 70+ mph. As I have aged I have grown a bit more willing to be the passe and not the passer so I envisioned shifting my commute goals from the fastest from A to B to the most efficient. All that being said ... should this Ford can be kicked down the road a bit further I am now becoming awfully tempted by a 4K cheaper, yet comparably equipped, white "snowflake pearl" Mazda6 Grand Touring (with Bose®Surround Sound Audio System with 11 speakers (including subwoofer), dual exhaust, paddle shifter, almond leather interior, 19" wheels that look like the H spoke, Bi-Xenon headlamps, etc) sedan with claimed 38mpg. I am not a fan of the new Honda Accords, Nissan Altimas, VW Passats, Toyota Camrys etc. Both the Energi and the Avalon are enticing - but ultimately beyond my self imposed budget (I am paying cash and do not wish to finance any portion of this purchase). I doubt I am the only one to getting cold feet the longer Ford flounders and doesn't say a damn thing to its potential customers. I fear my confidence in Ford is slipping by the week ... the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. And it seems that my hope that Ford would eventually turn the corner and get its act together (as I watched the HSAP Oct build mishaps pile up in TBD lots, misaligned body fit cars arrive at dealerships, etc) was perhaps misplaced. I haven't cancelled my order (my dealer has mostly been accommodating - but has not once called me without me calling them first. Not that I have spoken to them in weeks), but they have a window of two weeks to fish or I start cutting bait again. Sorry for the diatribe. Fastronaut Report post Posted February 10, 2013 I've never dealt with a salesman yet and never will. I deal exclusively with the sales manager. That's the person who knows what's going on. Some dealers have inventory managers as well. Ford reps tell sales managers the scoop. Each sales district has a Customer Service Manager. Contact Ford Customer Care and complain about your circumstance and ask to have the district Customer Service Manager contact you. Customer Care can assign you a case number so you don't get "lost". Press hard. You're the guy with the $$. 1 coach81 reacted to this
