The Scoop on JOB2 Start Date for 2013 - Fusion Hybrid Titanium and Energi

Production of JOB2 is supposed to be scheduled for "early 2013". Those waiting for Fusion Hybrid Titanium or Energi models are subject to JOB2. I contacted Ford Customer Care yesterday and they still had no idea of the start date for Hybrid Titanium or Energi factory startup dates :runaway:

 

Does anyone have a decent reach into Ford to know the facts?

Maybe the Fusion energi start date is not tied with the Hybrid Titanium.

The Titanium Hybrid is after all just a trim change to the Hybrid SE, but the energi is a total drive line change.

 

On the Fusion energi website there is a posting by STAFF (whatever that means) listing the energi as Job 1, see below.

As it stands now, here are the 2013 Ford Fusion Energi production targets. Please note that these dates are subject to change:

• 12 December 12: Fusion Energi scheduling begins.
• 07 January 13: Fusion Energi production (JOB1) begins.

We have two posts that speak to when the Fusion Energi will go into production. Staff posted a tenative date of 1/7/13 (today) and a post to a link to Donlen.com that indicates the production start up will be 1/21/13. It would be lovely if Staff would be kind enough to give us the actual, or even another tenative, "productin begins" date.

 

Thank you Staff, for giving us the original heads up.

So.. Maybe our Titanium production actually started on Jan 7 (we can hope)

Doesnt Ford have a US plant for Fusions now? Maybe that is where they are going to be built.

Yes ,Of all places Flat Rock, Michigan

Don't know if they have started building yet.

They are still building the assemby line for the Fusions at Flat Rock. I know someone working there. Talked with them last night.

What are peoples thoughts about getting updates after tomorrow, when they begin scheduling builds? We don't want everyone on the same 2 week status update schedule and it sounds like most dealers only get updates Thurs/Fri... Any thoughts? I haven't requested and update on the forum so I will likely get in Monday or Tuesday. For reference I have a Jan 1 order date with Ruby Red Color.

I think trying to herd pensive anonymous posters would be more difficult than cats - I hope the every other week cycle will occur naturally if a decent amount of those waiting post a request ere.

My order date is 11/06/2012. All I'm interested in at this point is to get a VIN assignment and estimated build date.

Not more than once every 2 weeks on an unscheduled order, once you have a VIN and build date or anything else downstream from that, no more than once every single week.

The order guide for the Titanium model mentioned a 1/7/2013 date on one of the pages. We're obviously past that now, but I didn't expect to see anything until at least this past week . . .

I see two Energi Ti having VINs for Central Texas delaer lots so you can try tracking them: 3fa6p0su8dr241760 and 3fa6p0suxdr241761

I think the second one is the BEST VIN ever, a Ford P0S & SUX... love the car, laugh at the sequential VIN coincidences.

The most current is 2/14 for order scheduling and 3/4 for Production Start.

When in the process are VINs assigned. There are 2 VINs assigned to Fusion Ti's (3fa6p0su8dr241760 & 3fa6p0suxdr241761) coming to a central Texas' dealer for stock and my ordered one from the same dealer doesn't have one yet. Is the dealer the only one able to give me the VIN?

I've seen VINs show up a week or two before production scheduling. Dealer stock is built first ahead of customer orders to ensure production quality.

Or more --- I got the VIN assignment for my original order on Nov 9th for a scheduled build week of Dec 4th - 4 weeks out.

I am bad about checking my home messages. Today I checked and I had a message from my salesperson telling me what she had heard from a trainer. Her message was panicky letting me know that the trainer said the titanium hybrid orders would not come out until late this year. She said her manager knew nothing.

 

It seems like we know more from these forums than what our salespeople know.

 

I let her know that I heard that new orders were no longer being accepted, but since we had our order in, that we should just sit tight. That is the car and trim I want, and I am willing to wait. Luckily, I have a great car that affords me the luxury to wait.

 

So it's wait and see for me. If the delay is too long, then I will certainly consider switching to a 2014.
