acdii Report post Posted December 20, 2012 What used to be Luxury car only items, like Leather seating, automatic dual climate controls, Adaptive Cruise Control, Power everything, including the steering wheel adjustments, Park Assist, etc. are now very common in regular family sedans? So what makes a Luxury car now a Luxury car? Other than the name, the Fusion has just as many nice features as a Lincoln MKZ, so why would you shell out more money for the Lincoln? When I compare my 2013 Fusion to my Mom's 2009 Linclon MKS, the only feature she has(aside from THX stereo) are cooled front seats and heated rear. All the rest of the features that I was envious of are now in my Fusion. I also have things hers doesnt have, like the Park Assist, and BLIS. My F150 had heated and cooled seats too, didnt care for the cooled seats, so no loss in the Fusion. a few years back I had a Hyundai Veracruz, which looks very much like the Lexus RX350, but a whole lot less expensive. I test drove an RX400H, and it had only one thing over the Veracruz, it handled and rode better, but it was loud, had a cheap radio(didnt even have XM), and was lacking a third row seat. The Veracruz was actually a much nicer car. Which makes me wonder, why put out the extra cash for a name when you can get as nice, if not nicer in some cases a Ford or Hyundai? Food for thought.
