To spoil or not to spoil?

I am highly motivated to jump into the new 2013 Fusion Hybrid, but i have a few things im torn about.

 

First of all I really like the look of chrome door handles offsetting the trim on the windows. This option is not listed under the build your own website. Anyone have any insight if it will be available?

 

Second im leaning toward the Titanium because I much prefer the upgraded interior, sound, and probably those door handles. But.... I think the Fusion looks much better without the rear spoiler. Will I be able to get a Titanium without the spoiler and sunroof? Or can i get a non Titanium and add chrome door handles?

 

Everytime i deselect an option i dislike it moves me between group packages.. No build your own options?

Chrome accented handles only come on the Titanniun model, they don't have to be added. The spoiler can be deleted.

Exactly.... if dealers are able to place orders for a given model and trim (mine was placed 5 weeks ago, chuckokie36 was 10 days before that), it makes sense to have the potential buyer be able to build & price that config. I don't know why it isn't available, doesn't reflect to well if they want to attract customers, IMHO.

I too am perplexed why the titanium fusion build configuration is not up and running. I agree it points to a disorganized organization and doesn't inspire confidence.

To toss further opinion into the matter ... I have opted against the spoiler.

 

Think it a tad odd on a hybrid.

 

Gas, high hp/torque car I see it (and it is done well) - but think I bit anachronistic on a hybrid.

I am still debating this. It does seem that the spoiler adds little and is barely noticeable.

I wonder what the consensus is on the spoiler.

In my opinion the spoiler is like adding off-road tires to the hybrid, not required for normal operations.

We had the spoiler installed after delivery. It was not available with the luxury package, only w/the appearance package. The dealer took care of it. Looks real nice and adds a nice touch.

No it's not needed but I'm looking forward to having it... I don't want a hybrid that specifically 'looks' like a hybrid... I had that with a golden-brown Prius and felt like I was driving a taco shell down the road, so it's nice to have a normal-looking car and even if the spoiler is probably not going to have a measurable effect on MPG, I still prefer to have it.

I have to agree that the packages kind of take the personalization out of your hands. I kinda laughed at my cousin yrs ago when I got into his wifes new escort wagon and found a tach in it. He said "I had no choice, it came with the package"
