Scott029 Report post Posted November 14, 2012 My build date was 11/5, it shipped the next day without an ETA. Today I found out it is in Chicago (240 miles from my dealer)and it now has an ETA of 11/21. If it makes it by the 21st it's 16 days from manufacture date to delivery. bankyedwards Report post Posted November 14, 2012 well the ones that are still not delivered were some of the first built that had that defect that is being slowly fixed and sent out that is the problem with that 20,000 or so cars and why the line in general was shut down in mid september for a bit. cars being built now are heading right out. and it shouldn't take more than a week to get it from chicago up to the land of cheese. you should ask them if they can drop it there and you come get it lol. Being I live in Chicago I also have that bonus that cars shipped via train to the midwest all come through here due to the large rail hub yards we have. so chicago dealers seem to get thier cars delivered fairly fast once shipped from what i have heard. Scott029 Report post Posted November 14, 2012 There are alot of cars that were built in October (after the shutdown for the body panel die retooling)that are still in Mexico or Flat Rock. I believe it depends on what options your car would have.Evidently, my car didn't have any of the options that the "other issues" pertain to. It's pretty hit & missand what the other issues are. As to when you will see it, I guess that depends if it gets caught in the glut of other cars moving (glut since many of / all of those held Fusions will still be out there I bet)... however Scott029 had his bult on Nov 5th, shipped on Nov 6th, and was on a rail car one state away on the 13th with an ETA of the 21st... whether he has it in the next couple days we will see, but he may have been lucky to have this get onto a rail car the next day instead of sitting for a few days to get consolidated onto a rail car/train headed to his region. I placed my original order 1 day before another member on here, however his build date was 4 weeks before mine. So at times there doesn't seem to be a lot of logic in how the things are scheduled, however I bet there are a lot of variables like packages/options/colors/wheels/etc on a given order, so it's not just the date of the order that comes into play.
