Would these fit?

I have a set of wheels from a previous ford car, specifically a ford freestar or windstar, dont remember, it was my parents car. Anyway, I want to put these rims on my 2010 Fusion SE. I believe they are 18" rims and the tire says 245/45/18 -- I've seen other posts and those numbers are always included. Can anyone tell me if they would fit my car?

Hi Abaddon. :D You need to find and provide more information. You need to have the wheel width, the wheel offset and the wheel centerbore to accurately determine if another set of non-Fusion wheels will fit properly.

 

For example, the Fusions factory 17" wheel is 7.5" wide, has a +44mm offset and a 67.1mm centerbore. You need to know the centerbore spec to determine whether the other wheels can be mounted at all, and the width and offset to determine if the wheels will rub/interfere with the suspension or fenders and look right on the car.

 

Also, just as an FYI: The Fusion's factory 18" wheels use a 225/45-18 tire. The 245/45-18's on those wheels will be two sizes too wide, meaning they will also be too tall and will throw off your speedometer and odometer readings (by ~2.7%). Not by a huge amount, but they definitely are not the factory recommended size tire.

245-45 would not be a issue. I have friends who ride on those and they have no issues. Those are actually what i am buying summer tires in.

Yeah, I really have no clue where to find those specs sorry. I looked for the rim specs but didn't really find any of the info you're asking for all I know is it's a Diablo LD5 rim (I guess these are knock-offs to a Lowenhart LD5 rim?). The tire is a Nankang Ultra Sport NS-II. Sorry I couldn't be much help

Hi Abaddon. :D If you (or someone else) can not find those specs, then your only real option is to test fit one of the wheels on the car to see if there is any interference, rubbing or fit problems. And if you are not sure about what to look for, then have a local mechanic or tire shop (preferably) test fit it for you.

 

And in case my last reply was confusing: It is the wheel that may be a problem, not the tire size. So a 245/45-18 tire will fit, just keep in mind that tire size is not the Factory recommended size for an 18" wheel on the Fusion. Therefore, your speedometer and odometer readings will be off.

I believe the Ford Freestar and Ford Windstar have a hub centerbore of 63.4mm. If they are oem wheels, then these will not fit. If they are aftermarket wheels, they should fit on the Fusion, with some hub centering rings of course. Like BBF said, try them on for size.

All aftermarket (and most OEM) wheels have the wheel size and the offset info either cast or stamped inside the back of the wheel someplace.
