Adaptive HID Headlamps working?

Recommended Posts

I have them, it's on the sticker (2011 MKZ), but I don't think they are working. They are supposed to wiggle back and forth when you turn the headlights on, mine don't. They are supposed to turn with the wheel, mine don't. Do they need to be activated or turned on?

No. they don't need to activated. If they aren't tracking to the right and back to center on startup, then a service appointment seems to be in order. How have you verified that they're not doing this? Note that it takes a few seconds before they operate and they only move with the steering wheel when the car is in motion .

Yes, verified that they are not doing the dance on start-up and then after driving we could not get it to work, either.

Oh, well. I guess you'll have to take it in for service then.

The dealer really should have checked that as part of the pre-delivery prep process. Lazy.
