Brake pad replacement questions

Looking for expert opinions: Just hit the 86k mile marker on my '06 fusion. Brake pads are worn down. Any suggestions for replacement? From what I hear the greenstuff/redstuff pads create a lot of dust, while the Hawk metallic are a favorite. Any truth to these statements?

 

When should I be looking to replace the rotors...? They don't look bad.

As long as your discs aren't too thin (No reason they should be!) and not warped (Pulse felt when you're braking.), and you haven't gouged them up letting the pads get down to the metal, your discs should be fine.

I've also noticed pulsing when my brakes are getting worn out. Replaced brakes and it went away. Seems to not always be the rotors. I think it happens when the pads wear uneven on each side of the rotor.
