Windo Tint and BLISS - any issues?

I want to get my new Fusion Hybrid tinted to 30% (legal limit in PA. I noticed on my previous vehicles That the side rear view mirrors where a bit harder to see because of a bit of reflection from the tint.

 

Does anyone have BLISS and tinted windows? any and all feedback would be great!

I have the BLIS system, and I think the little orange LED is hard enough to see through a clear window sometimes. I think tinting the windows would make it nearly impossible to see. Just my opinion.

I have tinted windows and BLIS and have no trouble seeing the warning light. However, mine are lighter than 30%

 

Having said that, IMO BLIS is useless if you set your outside mirrors properly, using this method. If you insist of setting your mirrors so that you just the sides of your car, you might benefit from BLIS. This method takes some getting used to but you'll never go back once you get comfortable with it.

 

Cars appear in my mirrors long before BLIS signals that there's anything there. Cross-traffic alert (CTA) does come in handy, however, when it's not giving false alarms.

Hahaa how funny. You are exactly right. I grew tired of trying to educate people on this issue years ago. Most people seem to think their side mirrors are for looking at the side of their car as they drive down the road...while listening to the theme music from Miami Vice. If used properly you shouldn't even see your own car, or the very tail end at the most. But I do like having BLIS as an extra measure of safety. The CTA definitely is the more useful part of it though.
