Visor Clip

Recommended Posts

Okay, this may go under the category of 'dumb questions'... What is the little plastic clip on both visors supposed used for? It is located just behind where the visor latches to the headliner. I have not seen this on any of my previous cars before. It's too small to hold an envelope or a piece of paper, and the sunglass "bin" is just inches away. Nothing is mentioned about it in the owner's guide. Beside myself, a few people that have been in my car have also asked about it and all I can do is shrug my shoulders.

$2.00 off next car wash cards, toll road cards (not used with ez pass), etc.

Some of these things you have to be creative. Have you noticed the "compartment" on the right side of the glove box door, or the little drawer to the left of the steering wheel?

Yes on both counts. I use the "compartment" to stick my tire gauge in and the drawer for coins, (same thing I used the drawer for that was to the right of the steering wheel in my old Focus).

I guess this plastic clip could also go under the "worthless features" thread elsewhere in these forums.

The "compartment" can be used for CDs.

SOME garage door openers can clip onto the clip. Unfortunately, mine cannot. :-(

I had thought about that too, but mine cannot either.

and the drawer for coins

I honestly had no clue what this was for when I was driving a rental around, but when I was at the dealership waiting for them to finish washing my car before taking it home initially I looked through the Fusion brochure and that's exactly what it showed the drawer for. After thinking about it now it makes sense since they removed the little change slots in the middle glove box from the previous model. I'm glad cause I could never seem to get coins in or out the center console easily in my '09

I use mine for envelopes that I need to mail. I haven't tried to put more than one in it at a time, but it does a great job of holding it securely in place and keeping it in view so I don't forget.

My dealer told me the glove box compartment was called the "whatever hole".

It's for holding your parking stub - you know, when you park in the Big City, you buy parking from the machine and get the paper stub that says when your parking ends (and is your receipt, if you can expense it)?

You put it in the clip and flip the visor down so the meter maid (errr, Parking Enforcement Officer) can see it and you don't get a ticket (if you don't have the clip, you lay it on the dash so they can see it).

I don't even have a Fusion or Milan - yet - but our Other Modern Car has one of these and my wife didn't know that. ... fortunately you can mail in the proof that you paid for the parking so we dodged a fine.

I honestly had no idea that the bin to the left of the steering wheel was for change. All I knew about it is that it's not an ashtray. Which is stated by the no smoking sign on the side of it.

I've just been using it to hold various small items.

If you work on a military base, you can use the clip to hold your military or civil service id. Makes it convenient to get your id for the gate id check.
