  1. This was my first experience with the new style door clips also. They do make a very loud snapping sound when you pop them out. However unlike the old "porcupine" clips, they don't distort and lose their holding ability when popped out. I had to slip a piece of cardboard between the panel and a clip after I popped it out or it would actually try to pop back in place while working on the next one. Like others have said, its not that hard to replace, but it does tick me off that Ford hasn't upgraded the materials in this handle after 4 years of problems. As you said, I love my Fusion too. Fix it Ford!
  2. Add me to the list. :censored: When I got back home today as soon as I opened the door I heard and felt a pop in the door handle. Bottom left corner cracked. I have a 2010 Fusion Sport that is just over a year old with 10,000 miles. Called my dealer to inquire if the part was in stock before I bring it in. Was told they have it in stock but they are required to take a picture of it and get an OK from Ford for the warranty repair. With all the posts I've seen about broken handles, I thought that took the cake. First problem to date and hope it's my last. But with all the other handle complaints I doubt it. Here is a pic.
  3. Unless Ford made a mid year change I'd say there is a problem with your lights. My 2010 I purchased last October has super bright dash lights. I have to dim them at night they are so bright. While not nearly as bright during the day I certainly don't have any problem seeing them. Could possibly be a bad rheostat "the dashboard rocker switch." It might not be allowing the lights to reach full illumination. Just a thought, what position is your headlight switch in? If it is in auto mode and for some reason the photo eye is telling the headlights to illuminate, the dash lights would automatically dim for night conditions. Try turning the headlight switch to the off position and see if the dash lights get brighter. Its easy to sit here and speculate but difficult to diagnose without actually seeing the car. Good luck with a resolution.
  4. I have a 2010 Sport. Has anyone else noticed the drivers door pillar sticker? It states that the weight limit with passengers and luggage is not to exceed 850 lbs. This sounds low to me. If you have a couple of good size passengers you could be pushing that number pretty easily. Especially with luggage. Anyone else think this is low? I hope they were just low balling that figure to protect themselves in case of some potential lawsuits.
  5. I had a 1984 Corvette. Talk about instrumentation change. Green, Yellow, and Red bar graphs with digital readout to boot! It was cool in '84 though.
  6. I know your pain! My wife dropped our left front wheel into a long pothole between lanes on the interstate. Changed lanes at just the wrong time. Those low profile tires leave little protection. I checked with my local parts dept. and they quoted me $275 and my old wheel. Guess I'm going to live with it for now. At least till I need a new set of tires.
  7. I use mine for envelopes that I need to mail. I haven't tried to put more than one in it at a time, but it does a great job of holding it securely in place and keeping it in view so I don't forget.
  8. Looks great! I too was disappointed that my 2010 Fusion with the "electronics package" didn't have Homelink. I got mine out of a 2000 Windstar, but haven't had the guts to cut on my headliner yet. What did you use as a template and what did you cut it with? I was a little worried the headliner would be too thick for the face plate to snap on to the module. Can you see the module and wiring between the headliner gap and the sunroof? Thanks for sharing.
  9. I'm not sure what the best option is for heated seats. You could get a set out of a new 2010 wreck if they were the color and size you needed but then you still would have to worry about the wiring and control switch. The switches are located in the climate control pod and I'm not sure if they use the same wire loom if the car doesn't come equipped with heated seats. As for the remote start, that is a dealer installed option. So I wouldn't be to worried about after market as long as you have a reputable installer. I'm currently looking at installing a Viper 5901 or 5902 in my new 2010 Fusion Sport. It would require the same installation as the factory (Code Alarm) system. But the Viper has a far superior range on its remote. There are three factory versions, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The Gold has alarm as well as remote start as does the Viper systems. If you go with remote start, you probably won't miss the heated seats that much. I think they would be a pretty pricey upgrade. Good luck!
