245-45-18 on sport rims

I was wondring, has anyone been successful (or even tried) to put 245-45-18 tires on OEM Sport rims. Were there any clearance issues when you turn the front wheels, any rubbing on bumps etc?

I recently put 245/40/18 tires on 8" wide aftermarket wheels and they fit like a glove. The OEM height is 25.9" and with these tires the height was 25.7" which is very close. So, you probably want to stick with 40 aspect ratio, not 45 since the tires are wider. Also, if the OEM sport wheels are only 7.5" wide, you probably can't go wider than 235 or you are really stretching the tires to fit.

 

But, you could consult your local tire/wheel dealer as well. Hope this helps.

I think your right, I will go with the 235-45-`18's whenever my RS-A wear out. I can't believe how these tires are holding up. I figured my 4k trip over the past 10 days would have caused them to wear down a little but they are holding up really well. I try to find things wrong with them as an excuse to change them out without success. The only little problem I had was saturday when I was heading out to PA. It came down in buckets and I hit some standing water at about 70mph and I got a little hydroplaining. Aside from that, nothing.

I agree, after hearing all bad things about the RSA's I was supprised to see how well they are holding up.

The tires were 245/45-18 and we ran into clearance problems with what I would call the upper control arm. I'l try to post a pic later if I can get the size smaller..

What is the offset on the Maxima wheel, and wheel width? It all comes into play when dealing with rubbing.

I've already taken it back but I'd say the offset was about the same in that it's relationship to the fender was about the same. I'm sure it was wider though, about 1".
