5000k or 6000k

I plan on purchasing some HIDs for my 2010 Ford Fusion SE from ultimatehidkits.com. However I'm at a slight dilemma, I can't decide between a 5000k or 6000k kit. I've seen pictures of both and some differ with the 5000k having pure white and even having a blueish tint. If anyone could share some pictures or advice it would be great!

Well I decided to go with Ultimatehidkits.com and ordered 55w 6000k HIDs, once I get them installed I will post pics.

I installed the 5K in my 2010 FFH, it took about 30 minutes per side. The 5K have a slight blue color, the 6K are more purple. I am very happy with the 5K. A friend installed the 6k and replaced them with the 5k. The higher you go in temperature the less light output is another thing to consider.

How did you find a 5000k kit with a slight tint of blue? Every HID kit I've seen that was 5000k is completely white with no hint of any blue.

I purchased them on ebay, yes they are 5000K not 5K. They are advertised as pure white, but they have a hint of blue.

5000k is pure white, and to get pure white when you hit the road, it needs to have 5% blue at the bulb. You want the brightest headlight? 55watt 5000k is the brightest. I have 8000k 55w and they look almost dead white, I would say 6000k is the way to go. Most of the color goes especially because fusions have projector headlights and at the bulb and on the road it's going to look white. You don't really see color in a 55w kit until you hit 10000k

Also, look at a color chart, like from a science book, you'll see purple starting at around 12000k not 6000k
