the "hang up" button on steering wheel

Recommended Posts

Does anybody else have this problem:

I have the latest iphone that bluetooth's to my FFH perfectly. Voice control works like a charm too. here's the problem:

It would appear (and make a hell of a lot of sense) that the button under the "Voice Control" button would be a "Hang Up" button. Meaning, when done with a call, I should be able to push that button for a quicker "End Call" than reaching all the way to the Navigation Display, locate the red "End Call" button and do it from there (i know Im lazy but it should be like this).

Instead, when I push the button under the "Voice Control" button, the function it does is "Redial". I think everyone would agree that you would need the "End Call" button a lot more often than "Redial". the reason is sometimes you are talking while having the Map display on, and when the conversation is over, your phone doesnt hang up when the person your talking to hangs up, thus needing the hang up button to get back to music or just to be done with the call.

Does anyone have this problem and is there a way to fix it?

Everything else has been great.

Thanks

According to the OWNER'S MANUAL it will hang up when you press AND HOLD the phone button.

It's kind of dumb, but you have to hold the button for a few seconds until you get the hangup display.

(I guess akirby is a faster typer than me.)

Oh, thanks I was wondering about this too. I just let the other end hang up and my phone disconnects automatically. I will have to try the push and hold method.

Yup, took me a couple of screw-ups to get it right. One tap to answer. If you do like I did and tap it a couple of times, since I figured it needed to be woken up, it hangs up on the caller.

Thanks to all.

I guess the owners manual is there for a reason. I feel like a moron.

that said, after trying it out, you do have to hold it for a long time for it to hang up!!!!

Yup, you have to hold it a bit to end an existing call, but if you tap it twice on an incoming call it hang up on them. My son couldn't figure out why I kept on hanging up on him instead of answering the call.
