drivers seat wear

Recommended Posts

I have a 2009 and my drivers seat has considerable wear from the previous customer. Does anyone know if the seat cover from the factory is covered under the warranty? I am thinking of buying a cover for my seat and taking the seat out of the car and just taking off the existing one and putting the new one on. I also worry that the bulge on the left side of the seat will rip. Everytime I get in and out of the car.

Hi metallicred. :D In many cases, it would be. However, the answer depends on what the Dealer/Ford determine the cause of the wear/damage was. So in the end, the only way to find out for sure is to take the car in for service.

Let us know how you make out.

Good luck. :beerchug:

Hi, as far as I'm concerned if the state of your seat is not due to abusive treatment (a cut or tear from an object of some sort) I would argue and insist they change my seat.

But again, I would make sure they couldn't blame me for the damages to the seat or the previous owner. A seat is made to outlast most of the rest of the car......like 20 years

or so not just a year or two. Good luck!

My car just turned 11000 and the place where you sit has considerable wear and the left side of the seat ( the bulge) are known to rip from frequent getting in and out. If it rips im gonna ask the dealer to replace it otherwise il do it myself.

Hi guys, I honestly don't understand. My car has a little over 24,000 kilometers thats over 15,000 miles and my seats including the driver's side is still band new. Maybe we should post pictures to compare and that might help make a convincing argument to a dealer?

I have the problem of cracks on the side of the drivers seat of my 07. Took it to the dealer and they said it was not covered under warranty. I went to another dealership to double check and they said it would be a warranty repair, so they ordered a new cover.

I have an 08 fusion with the black and red leather and have the same problem a lot of cracks and discoloration. I took it to dealer and they said it was not damaged considered to be normal wear and tear. My car is only 32000 so go figure!

I'm pretty worried since I'm such a big guy and I'll be honest I sweat a fair amount in the summer months so I'm worried my seats will crack way too soon. Does regular leather cleaning/conditioning prevent this? I dont want to have to get seat covers because I love the leather and stitching way too much.
