kremer4 Report post Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) Ordered the 18" 2010 Ford Fusion wheels off Ebay. Also have the spoiler on order. After about 200 miles on the 18s I have not noticed a drastic change in MPG. I commute 65 miles round trip down 66 in Washington every day. So far I'm averaging 38MPG with the new wheels. I was getting about 39-40 before. Pics below. Also I created a Forum last night for Hybrid Cars. So far the only forum is for the FFH, please check it out and let me know what you think. www.hybridcarforums.org Edited March 30, 2010 by kremer4
Rodeo Report post Posted March 27, 2010 They look really good and if all they cost you are 1-2 mpg, no big deal. Some would probably say though that IT IS a big deal but the only one it matters to is yourself. Car looks sportier then any other FFH.

spacenomyous Report post Posted March 27, 2010 Speaking of mods, has anybody looked at changing out that antenna? I wonder if there's something a little more pleasing, something similiar to the BMW shark fin antennas.

Blue Oval Report post Posted March 28, 2010 Your new, larger wheels look very nice, kremer4. One day, when funds materialize, I would like to change the ones on my hybrid, too. I personally prefer the chrome look and in particular desire larger gaps between the spoke rims. The current stock hybrid wheels have too many small crevices for brake dust to get into and as such are a real pain in the butt to wash by hand. As far as the appearance of the stock antenna, I suppose it all depends on the color of the car it sits on. My car is white and the black antenna sticks out like a sore thumb. Replacing it with a body-color, shark fin style antenna is high on my list of improvements. I'm just waiting to hear more info from others here on the forum who have made the switch to let me know how it performs.

Each time I search for it, both through yahoo and google, every other site but yours appears...especially the hybridcarforums.com site which I know is not the one you suggested we look at. Any ideas? acdii Report post Posted March 30, 2010 20's from the Edge mang, that would look HAWT! I wonder if the wheels on my Flex would fit, just to see what 20's look like on the Fusion.

I wonder if there's something a little more pleasing, something similiar to the BMW shark fin antennas. Try going to Virtual Garage for their shark fin antenna. Not sure if it will work for satelite radio though. Works great on my other car though and they paint to match for $80 if i recall shipping included. I believe it came from Canada. Buster1 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 There are some Shark fin antennas out there. Heard they were okay. Also, with different sized tires/wheels, did you alter the speedo? The different rolling radius will change the speed, and may affect what the computer thinks it's doing for MPG. Good luck. Nice ride!
