Aftermarket Stereo in 08 Fusion

Recommended Posts

Can you mention what issue you had? Did not turn on? Turned on, no sound? Turned on, made noise, will not tun in AM/FM? Ran out of marretts and or duct tape? Seriously though - there are a few differences from your Explorer to your Fusion. Most explorers had factory amps for example... Can you also include which sound system your Focus came equipped with.

Pics would help... Based on what you are saying, it sounds like the stereo is only getting memory power, and not the second switched power. To test, disconnect the red wire from the harness adaptor. Now connect the red wire going into the aftermarket stereo to the yellow wire. If it lights up, that helps us narrow down the problem. If you have a volt meter, you could check to make sure you are getting 12 volts to both the yellow and the red wire. A good ground is also important. I have seen radios in the past that will actually work with the ground on the antenna wire. They get hot quickly...well that is a story for another time. Keep us posted.
