Ex Warranty

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am not an extended Warranty guy at ALL--but for the price I could not pass this one up. I bought a 6 year 75,000 mile FORD premium plan for $600.00. Not to use this forum as an ad, so if anyone wants the details, post or send me your email and I can give you the details.

Just passing this along to my fellow fusion owners.

I'm not trying to be wise but does it cover anything? :)

Isn't there an online/website that offers Ford Ext Warranties very reasonably? Could someone post the link?

Sorry to play devil's advocate, but a quick read of the coverage does not mention hybrid components. I ran the numbers for both the Fusion 2WD and Fusion Hybrid 2WD for 2010 versions with identical mileage and the premiums were the same - this doesn't seem logical. Did I overlook something?

I'm with the understanding the hybrid is covered under powertrain...

Not having my books near by doesn't the Hybrid parts come with there own warranty that is a lot more than the car warranty? I'm thinking like 7 yrs and 100K for those components.

Hybrid unique components warranty...Most states: 8/100k. California and possibly handful of other states: 10/150k.

My FFH turns 1 in Oct. I'm very much considering buying an extended warranty before 1 year (since the price will go up after).

On www.buy-ford-warranty.com I can get 6 years 60k miles for $545 ($50 ded) or $675 ($0 ded) for Premium Care.

Now just some background. I've never kept a car more then 3 years, but this one I might (just because I would actually like the recoup the extra Hybrid Cost). Also since the Warranties are transferable ,I think that would help with resale.

Any suggestions?

Ok, bit the bullet and ended up buying a 6 year 60,000 mile warranty (0 Deductible) from FordFactoryPlans.com for $665. Seems like a good deal, and if I don't keep the car that long, its transferable.
