Aux port still work with aftermarket radio?

I'm looking to get a nice touchscreen cd/dvd player to fit into the square hole of the factory radio, and when I look stuff up on crutchfield.com for my fusion, it says the aux port will not work with an aftermarket stereo. is this true?

That is true. The aux - line in, is integrated with the factory stereo head unit. Many aftermarket radios offer this option, either through a stereo mini jack, or through RCA connections. If you new stereo has this option, you will still need to integrate with the aux input.
