DTJJK96 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Well my wife just told me she had our second glitch. My wife drives the car more than I do so she gets to see what is happening more than me. She told me that the volume on the radio has by itself gone to max volume and she has to turn it down. This has occured more than once. Has anyone had this happen to them? thephanster Report post Posted April 20, 2010 After my 5th display glitch, I went to a new dealer.According to the hybrid technician there, It turns out Ford issued a TSB recently for the Display in early April? He couldn't tell me what exactly the TSB was for as Ford's support website that the dealer used was off-line. He installed the TSB fix - which if I recall correctly, pretty much was a new installation of the Display Software Module. No issues since.I was able to drive the car to the LOW TANK warning came on....(more on this below) It's possible that I missed this subtlety before (but I don't think so), but now I do notice the the Efficiency Bar Display has a new feature. There is a semi-transparent white horizontal line that cuts across all the bars...This white horizontal line corresponts to the AVERAGE MPG at the time and will move up or down as your Ave MPG changes. So if your Average MPG is 40 then the horizontal line will hit the 40mpg mark on the Instantaneous MPG. With a new tank of gas and the Average MPG being reset (this time by me), you can see this horizontal bar move up and down relatively quickly as the Average MPG is changing relatively rapidly. Hopefully this TSB solves the Display problem...FINGERS CROSSED !!!! Now on to the numbers associated with this last tank of gas. * Computer gives Averge MPG = 47.1* Traditiona calculation gives Average MPG = 659.2miles / 14.706gallons = 44.83* That's 659.2miles + ~37 Miles to Empty = ~ 696miles* That' VERY CLOSE to the 700miles that Ford claims the Hybrid can get on a tank of gas. And this is with the AC running on some days - albeit it don't run the AC very cold (I never do). That's with ~25% - 30% of highway driving by miles - albeit I put the cruise control on 55mph and stick to the outer lanes. Yes, I do this in Dallas, Texas & don't get killed....much less stressful not having to constantly start & stop and worrying about passing folks. I expect with the Texas summer coming, my mpg will not be as good as the AC will be on more often and will have to work harder. STILL these numbers are great !!! With 6405.3miles / 158.76gals, the Overall MPG = 40.35.Sadly my long-term MPG has been reset a couple of times now with the software updates for the brakes & the Display. This is mostly driving at 35-45mph in the city (here using the cruise control helps at times), with a light foot (but I do not hypermile), and a little intelligent driving. Stang8URMPRT Report post Posted May 3, 2010 Got my brake recall and a "dash software upgrade" done at the same time to try to fix this problem. Well, so far it has done a full reset once, and some how, someway, turned off the fuel economy bar graphs by itself. They weren't actually turned off, but the display was blank in that spot. I had to go through the menu and it was checked on bar graphs, but I had to click it again for it to pop back on, and then it reset it to a 10 min. display, instead of the 60 min. I had it on.... Also my BLIS is acting up now on the left side... Good Lord... Technology > Ford. Nick
OskiO Report post Posted August 13, 2010 I've had this issue a few times...maybe 5 max, since I bought the FFH in June 2009. I had it again today. Called my contact at the dealer and they still have no know issues. Glad to know I'm not alone, maybe this will help it get fixed.
OskiO Report post Posted August 17, 2010 Just got back from the Ford dealer. If you are having this issue take your Fusion to the dealer and have them pull TSB 10-15-5. It deals with this reset and has a "fix" C

Going to bring it in, but would like to help point them in the right direction if possible.

It is probably still the long term average, but it only has a very small amount of history to base it on, so it is influenced very heavily by short term average until several hundred miles have accumulated. That makes sense, but I was trying to find out why it reset to begin with. Even on a short trip, when you shut down the display show the info for that trip on the right side, it shows the average as the last value the display had while driving on the left side of the display. It's not even calculating the short trip properly anymore
