Problems with HIDs... Please help!

Hi guys,

 

New to this forum and could not locate a thread talking about it...

 

I just installed an HID kit on my dad's Ford Fusion SEL V6 AWD 2009. Since we live in Canada, we have daytime running lights (DRL). Even though I have put the ballast's ground wire on a metal screw located on the body of the vehicle, it still blinks like hell when the DRL are on... Any comments on what I should do?

 

I drive a Mazda 5 and for one year, I had the same problem with my HIDs. At the time, I didn't really knew how HIDs and DRLs where getting along well or not and I had wired the positive and the negative from the ballast directly to the factory harness. On my forum, the guys where saying that the negative wire should go anywhere on a metal screw located on the body of the vehicle and that this would solve my problem. And indeed, it did. As soon as I rewired my negative from the harness to the body, it instantly stopped blinking.

 

Since I new that it would maybe do that with the fusion, I wired it that way, but they still blink... Any help?

 

Some of you might say to simply cover the "magic eye" that senses if the lights should turn on or not and put it on "auto", but my dad really want ALL the lights to turn on only at night..

I believe you will be interested in the conversations being had in there. I have a 2010 Fusion, and live in Edmonton Alberta. I want HID, and after reading about the headache and heartache due to the DRL, I will wait for somebody else to figure it out. The are headlights, and working halogens are better than broken HIDs.
