What is the latest on Pricing?

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I haven't seen a thread about pricing for awhile. Is anybody discounting FFH?

I know many of you have paid the X-plan price, and I have a pin and will probably do that. Are there any incentives that go along with that?

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi Jerry--I am looking at a Sport next month thru the X-plan. The incentives are regional, but all of them that I see exclude the Hybrid. They just upped the ones for Cincinnati to $2500, so I can't wait until next month rolls around and the "boss" lets me go get mine.

HI Jerry. :D Dealers are selling every Hybrid they can get their hands on, and at MSRP (or higher) if they like, so Ford will not be offering any incentives or Rebates in the foreseeable future.

It is possible to buy for less than MSRP, but that is entirely Dealer dependent, so there is no "one size fits all" answer.

There are no current X-Plan specific Incentives on the Hybrid either. If you have an X-Plan PIN and your Dealer is wiling to sell a Hybrid to you on the X-Plan, then that is your best bet. You will not be able to negotiate a Hybrid purchase for less then X-Plan.

Good luck. :beerchug:

I don't like to dispute bbf2530 because he provides so much useful information, but I did purchase a FFH for less than X-Plan in January in Cincinnati. A little more than $900 less than X-Plan. Recognize that according to the terms and conditions of X-Plan you need to decide whether you want to purchase via X-Plan before you start negotiation with the dealer. So unless you have confidence in your ability to negotiate a good deal, your best bet is probably to go in and ask for the X-Plan price.

To actually understand your deal, you would need to provide all the details ---- trade in allowance, financing, fees and charges, etc. for this bargin. If I were your dealership's sales manager and you let me set the trade-in value on your vehicle, arrange your financing, charge you my normal doc/prep.protection fees, I would make the same deal.. Without these additional profit opportunities, I question that any dealership would sell the unit under their cost.

If someone is interested in a hybrid around Cincinnati, Northgate Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Kitchen Sink currently have 2 hybrids that have been on the lot of a while now. They also have a lot of Sports. One is black, and i'm not sure what the other color is. Their website is http://www.cincyford.com . I got mine last year for x-plan, but you may be able to negotiate a pretty good price now. However, only a few dealers had any in stock and I had to place mine on order which took about 7-8 weeks to get in. The dealers who did have them in stock were not negotiating, but the hybrid was really hot back then. X-plan is a pretty good deal, although x-plan also disqualifies you for a few of the other incentives that Ford is offering such as military, or college graduate discounts.

You can also go to Edmunds http://www.edmunds.com and get an idea for what people are paying for their Fusion Hybrid or Sports right now in your area via their TMV tool. It is not going to be accurate, but might give you a ball park figure on what you might be able to expect.

No trade-in. No finance fees - I paid cash. $250 doc fees. I have the invoice from the dealer which shows the Invoice cost, MSRP, and X-Plan price, which matched the price that I pulled from the X-Plan website using the PIN available to me via my employer. I never said that I got the car for below dealer cost, just that I got it for below X-Plan price.

Then you must have incriminating pictures of the sales manager. There is no reason for a dealer to make a deal like that under normal circumstances.

Doc fees of $250 on an x-plan? Makes you wonder how they would deal on A/Z/D plans? If they applied for the commission on the x-plan deal, they barely made a profit - but then there is the issue of the doc fees.

Why doesn't this add up? (Paint protection, ESP, FDAA, glass etch, prep--?)

502A with premium floor mats as well as all weather floor mats.

  •
  • MSRP-- $32,745
  • Invoice-- $30334.14
  • X plan--- $30487.80
  • D Plan-- $29395.14
  • A & Z Plan--$29295.14

Dealer makes a flat $1800 from Ford for A & Z Plan and cannot pass any of that along to the customer nor can they charge any other fees with the sale.

D Plan is what dealership employees can purchase for and cannot pass along to others since Ford is subsidizing part of the sale.

Anything below this Invoice number and the Dealership does not make money, only the salesperson gets his commission and the Delarship can pay its overhead and finance bills but would not make extra money unless their total sales for the month met their Ford Motor Company goals then as much as $900 could be realized. The extra money is often why the end of the month might entice them to go low so as to meet their goals.

Doc fees of $250 on an x-plan?

I didn't do an X-Plan deal. If I had done an X-Plan deal, I think the doc fees could not have been more than $75. So in reality, I didn't beat the X-Plan by $900, but just $725 (the difference between the $250 doc fees I paid and the $75 that would have been charged with X-Plan).

I was recently offered the 502A FFH, car + doc fee of $30,174. A normal, off the street purchase. Edited by mrcrlee
