Anyone do their taxes yet?

I filled out my taxes online (Taxact) and got to the end and it says the IRS hasn't finished Form 8910 yet. That is the Hybrid Credit Form. So we basically have to wait until they get off their asses and finish the form. I googled the form # and apparently they only have a draft version of the 2009 form, or the final 2008 form, both of which won't do the job.

 

Oh well. I guess we just have to wait.

My TurboTax program (Deluxe) has the 8910 form and does the calculations correctly -as long as you use the order (committment to purchase date) to set your percentage of the credit for which you qualify. Most people that look at the form will incorrectly assume that the date you take delivery sets the % ----even IRS agents and tax accountants.

 

My tax credit is a big deal $3,400, whereas the sales tax (reduction form income) on the trade difference was not such a big deal (less than $200)

How did turbotax get the form? It is not even on the IRS's own website. If you look at the pdf turbotax generates does it actually say form 8910 2009?

I had entered my info on Turbotax and got that notice that the 8910 form had not been updated. I then entered my data into Taxslayer and submitted it last night for $9.95 (without the notice about the 8910) and got an email today that the return had been accepted by the IRS. This actually works better since Turbotax Premier was going to be $49.95 and I did it for $9.95 instead.

Filed Turbo Tax last night with no problemss. Ya'll don't forget that you get to deduct your sales tax this year. There's info in Turbo Tax on that too.
