Sensitivity of Keyless Entry Remote

Recommended Posts

(Didn't know where to post this, but...)

The remote (embedded in the key fob) for my 2008 Fusion is awfully sensitive and is prone to accidental presses that may unlock the car while, for example, it is parked in the driveway and I am in my house digging through my purse. Does anyone know of a way to reduce the sensitivity of the remotes, so that it only works within, say, 10 feet rather than 50? Or even a way to tell the car not to accept remote signals that are above a certain distance/below a certain signal strength?

Hi fuzz-ion. :D Unfortunately, there is no sensitivity or distance adjustments in the current system. If it can receive the signal at all, it will perform the requested (or accidentally requested) function.

While I realize this is of little comfort to you, ironically most complaints concerning the IKT remotes center on wishes that it would work from longer distances.

Good luck. :beerchug:

Try to find a purse with a foil liner to block the signal. ;)

Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll just keep being really careful!
