muskie Report post Posted December 18, 2009 I drove Mark VIIIs from 86-08 primarily for seats comfort as I have back issues. I bought an '09 fusion and am pleasedexcept for the seats. The seat causes me neck and shoulder pain and I think it is because the upper portion of the seat pushes my shoulders forward. I can't seem to sit with a straight back. I know people have had problems with the headrest but this is not the problem with me. Are there any options for replacing the seats, ie Recaro or others? Would an MKZ seat be better and fit? FtLewis2002 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 The side bolsters definitely push the shoulders forward. It would be nice for cornering if I was a little guy. But if you have both hands on the steering wheel, your shoulders are already forward unless you dive with the seat really close to the steering wheel. It makes it easier to drive long distance, and that's why they designed the seats that way instead of being flat. Most new vehicles have the side bolsters. I'm sure you could have the seat redesigned at an upholstery shop.

acdii Report post Posted February 8, 2010 Go try out an MKZ, if you like the seat comfort, get yours swapped out with one, they should basically bolt right in and plug up to the harness since they are basically the same car.
