bbf2530 Report post Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) has anybody noticed the rear view mirror in the fusion?? seems kind of low on the windshield to me, and blocks some view on the right side looking out the windshield Hi Bill. :D You may be able to adjust it higher. The mirror has two pivot points. One is close to the windshield attachment point at the far end of the mirror stalk. The second is on the back of the mirror. So, to adjust out of your range of vision as high as possible, do the following: First, using the pivot point near the windshield, adjust the mirror as high as it will go towards the roof. Do this by pushing the mirror stalk up as high as it will go. Next, while holding the first pivot point and mirror stalk steady, adjust the mirror itself downward as needed using only the second pivot point on the back of the mirror. Do not allow the mirror stalk to move back down. Hopefully, this adjustment will slightly alleviate the problem for you. Good luck. :beerchug: Edited December 16, 2009 by bbf2530

Rodeo Report post Posted December 26, 2009 That's called a "built in" factory blind spot. Next year (2011 model) Ford will be announcing a new elecronic camera that allows you to see around and behind the windshield area that is being blocked out. It will require you to have the NAV screen ($1995 option in 2011) and the extra camera will be part of a new improved "electronics package" that will cost roughly $3,395 in 2011. So if you want to see around the intentionally mis-placed rear view mirror it will cost you about 5 Grand, discounted price when purchased together. Oh and if you are looking at an SEL model instead of the Sport, guess what! If you want a power driver seat in 2011 that will only be packaged as part of the new Electronics Package so be prepared to pony up the full $3,395 to get that feature. For those of you who aren't awake yet or are from a Country outside the US Border, please note this was written in jest, not to be taken seriously and no farm animals or livestock were hurt in the making of this joke. bdb Report post Posted December 27, 2009 Oh i was talking about the 2010 FFH. I read the post about the pivot points on the mirror, but it's not making any sense to me.When I bring it in to the dealer for the 5000 mile checkup I'm going to ask about this annoying low rear view mirror. bdb

Thus, each end of that arm are a separate pivot point. One is where the mirror attaches to the arm and the second is where the arm attaches to the windshield mount. In BBFs example, he refers to the swivel point nearest the mirror itself as the "second" swivel point. Look from outside the car through the windshield if you cannot see / understand this. FtLewis2002 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 My GPS blocks the lower left corner of my windshield and I can't stand it! What was Garmin thinking when they designed that thing? (I'm Being Totally Facetious) Honestly though, my mirror doesn't bother me, and don't see how it bothers anybody. But, if it does, maybe buy another one, or try adjusting it like everyone else is saying.
